Bottle date unknown, but I've had this one in my cellar for at least a year.

Poured into a wine glass.

Appearance: Large, crackling layer of fizz off pour, which descends to a firm, tan crown. Deep brown body shines crimson in light and shows excellent clarity. Nice head retention and lace.

Smell: Prunes, figs, bread, and vinegar. Something about this aroma reminds me of rotting fruit though - maybe the mildly cloying sweetness mixed with vinegar. That off-note isn't overpowering though, and all in all the nose is satisfactory.

Taste: Prunes and raisins lay atop a sweet bread/pastry-like backbone. Cinnamon and clove peek through midway and carry into a spicy, lightly tart, lime zest finish.

Mouthfeel: Sweet, spicy, dry, and mildly tart. Medium-to-light in body with moderate carbonation. A bit too bland for me, but decent overall.

Overall: Not thrilling, lacks sourness, and possesses a few off flavors. In areas that lack sour ales though (e.g. Fresno, San Luis Obispo), this provides a bit of relief.

330ml bottle. Snifter glass. Deep reddish brown, mahogany tints to the light. Beige froth shows nice retention & lacing. Oak, sour berry & grape aromas, tartar hues & slight sweetness. Tartar/sourness, fruity & woody notes over toasted malts on the forefront. Medium body. Moderate carbonation. Silky palate, dense to watery texture. As expected from aromas, harsh tartiness remains in the middle & lingers into the finish. Thankfully, toasted maltiness holds it, making it refreshing instead of bothering. Grape & wood on the aftertaste. Sometimes I wonder if it is a malty wine –just kidding!, it´s a good job & nice spot of the Style. Suggested pairing with heavy spiced cooked beef meat.

Picked this up at Brewer's Haven in Boise.

A- Pours a dark reddish brown with a latte colored head. Large bubble disparate quickly.

S- Subtle, dark fruits, Belgian yeast slight sour melony nose. Smells like a slightly sour quad.

T- Similar to the smell, very light sourness, dark fruit dominates but the flavor is surprisingly light.

M- Heavy bodied and carbonated, slightly syrupy.

O- Good beer, surprisingly light and easy to drink. I would have liked more flavor , but it was good overall. I'd have it again.

Great beer. It serves as a dark thick liquid in the glass, but doesn't feel that way when drinking it. It is almost a normal beer except for the citric hint. It is derived from lambics, and therefore the flavor, but it is not like a lambic that is one bottle and done, this one you could drink a few easily.

Aroma is almost inexistent. Nice head. Good carbonation.

Poured into a mini snifter.

A: dark brown/red in color with very little head and a little lacing.

S: Not much, it's very subtle fruit like. I honestly can't pick up on much specifically do to how faint the aromas are.

T: a very mild tart, very simple taste profile and clean flavor finish. Simple but not exciting.

M: light, almost effervescent.

O: it's tasty and tart (a little), solid beer but nothing special. Due to its widespread availability when the mood strikes it should be easy to find.
