A: Deep Red. White head quickly dissipates. Moderate lacing.

S: Maybe the best aspect of the beer. Strong sweet and sour cherries are dominant. Some red wine as well.

T: Light sour cherry and not a whole lot else.

M: Pretty thin. To the point of being watery.

Overall: Not the best Belgian sour I've had. With the exception of the smell, everything is a little weak. I would have loved some more tartness and complexity. It's not a bad beer but it doesn't really have the flavors to stand out from the crowd.

Poured chilled in flared sample glass @davewhite4, the first of a Petrus trilogy.

A: cola colored, medium head; great carbonation; little lacing
S: root beer, hints of vinegar/cider, increases on warm-up (apple-vinegar principally)
T: thin, sour flavor; straightforward brown sour; the sour lemon/dark cherry flavor is strong, but simple; dark-roast malt comes through

Not bad overall; my second favorite of the trilogy.

Average beer, pretty good. The look is dark brown with a small head reducing quickly to a collar. Smell is slightly malty and a little sour. The beer is refreshing and very drinkable. It's very balanced but not particularly bold or complex. I won't seek it out but I'd enjoy a revisit later.
