what i must mention is that this is the first Belgian Beer i've ever seen in cans, which is what led me to buying a six pack to try...
once poured into a tall pilsner glass a fizzy short head appears leaving a very weak lace that trickles down the sides of the glass.... a light yellow colored beer that is very similar to the color of the mass produced mexican beers that are pilsner influenced.
the aroma is light with a slightly harsh citrus tinge to it which i enjoyed greatly..
the flavor though, or lack of, is a bit off putting.. i was expecting more from a Belgian beer. no hop flavor and very little flavor of anything else for that matter. goes down very easy. the carbonation really comes through if rolled around over your tongue, leaving you with an almost "just brushed my teeth" feeling. sounds worse than it actually is..
in the end i found that i would buy this beer again if i was in a situation where i couldn't have bottles and needed to find something drinkable in a can. and for 5.99 a six pack of a beer imported from belgium, you're not overspending.
the price equals the flavor here.

Bavik served in a 10 oz marked glass with a gold rim at Sharp Edge bistro in Pittsburgh. The beer is a light gold with a clumpy white head. It did have really nice lacing.
The beer has a nose of grass, grains and a bit of floral hops.
Nice pilsner. It leads with some grainy undertones; a bit of perfume from the hops and finishes with a nice bit of old school euro sulphur.
The mouth is crisp and workman like
Easy drinker and easy to pair with salads, chicken, and mild cheeses

330 ml bottle into lager glass, no bottle dating. Pours slightly hazy/cloudy golden straw color with a 1 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of lemon, apple, pear, cracker, bread, light honey, herbal, straw, grass, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of malt, hop, and yeast ester notes; with solid strength. Taste of lemon, pear, apple, cracker, bread, light honey, herbal, straw, grass, and yeast earthiness. Minimal earthy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, pear, apple, cracker, bread, light honey, herbal, straw, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a short bit. Nice balance and solid robustness of pale malt, hops, and yeast ester flavors; with a clean finish with no lingering flavors. Medium carbonation and light-medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, and clean mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with zero warming present after the finish. Overall this is a good pilsner. Well balanced malt, hop, and yeast ester flavors with solid robustness; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A bit bland on character, but not watery. A pleasant and enjoyable offering.

Poured from 11.2 oz can into pint glass.
Appearance: a frothy white head recedes with moderate lacing. Color is mostly clear light golden with plenty of sediment in suspension. Light streaming carbonation.
Aroma: grassy hops, yeast rolls, barley malt.
Mouthfeel: light and a bit oily with a somewhat dry finish.
Flavor: biscuit, fruit, raisin, white bread, grassiness and bitter herbs.
Overall: very nice, would be glad to try this one again.
