Unpasteurized Belgian Pilsner
Bavik Super Pils obtains its unique taste and aroma from its exceptional brewing process. Our pilsner has not been diluted, we only use aroma hops, guarantee a long and cold maturation process, and pasteurization is out of the question. Those four elements result in this unique pilsner.
Never compromise on taste!

Very drinkable beer. Nice light gold color. Tastes great with any food. I have had it on tap and in cans in North Carolina and Montana.

It's drinkable. But is it a Pilsner? It's definitely a wannabe. Their claim that they are "only one Pilsner remains uncompromised" is ridiculous, considering the Original Pilsner Urquell is actually That One Pilsner. From Plzen, Czech. Not from Belgium.
So anyway, it's an okay "I identify as a Pilsner" lager. The price point vs the taste ratio is acceptable. A solid mediocre 3-pointer. It does have a pretty color though.

Pours a clear straw yellow color with a medium top of white head that dissolves slowly.
Aroma is of grains, light malts, some spices and herbs.
The taste is dry and grassy, with some light malt tones. Finishes of with some hoppy bitterness. Does lack the ballance in the flavour that I like in the pilsner style.
Mouthfeel is crisp and clean with a medium carbonation and a medium body.
A fairly decent pilsner, and by all means drinkable, but I find the pilsners from Germany better.

I purchased this one from Plonk in Fyshwick in August 2023 and drank it a few days later in September 2023.
L: Bright, golden, honey-yellow, with a fluffy, long-lived head. Lots of carbonation in the glass.
S: The nose has lovely floral hops and sweet biscuity malt.
T: The taste closely follows the nose, with a long and sweet finish. The bitterness is milder than expected but not to the point of detracting from the rest of the beer.
M: Carbonation is moderate, and the beer is full and smooth. Very nice.
O: This is an excellent, if slightly less bitter than common, pilsner. My bottle was quite aged; I would love to try this fresh.
Cheers!

Bottle at Las Buenas Pulgas served in a trappist glass. Clear golden colour, medium creamy head and retention. Good lacing. Aroma of burnt bread, malts, citrics, herbs. Medium body, thin texture, active carbonation. Citric finish. Taste of herbs, straw, citrics, malts. Fairly good and refreshing.

This is a pretty typical European pilsner, though not quite as full-flavored as others I've tried. Some might consider 5.2% a little high for an ABV for this style, but you don't notice it at all. Nothing bad, nothing great, nothing really stands out on this one.

Poured from a can into a Teku glass.
Interesting Pilsner from Belgium. Very good pils, but not world class. Refreshing and very drinkable. Good mixture of flavors and a long finish.
