An interesting beer. Bavik certainly has access to oud bruin beer and other sour styles (petrus aged pale uses a part sour-beer), and my suspicion is that this beer contains a sour beer mixed in. Unfortunately I cannot find any confirmation of this, but I am scoring the beer as a 'sour bruin' along the lines of their Petrus Aged Pale.
The color is rusty orange, somewhat light for a bruin, and the nose is very sour, acidic, much like a somewhat sweetened oud bruin. There is information on the back of the bottle in flemish and french but I cannot figure out if it discusses the style in any detail.
Taste is midly sour dark candy, notes of roasted malt appear as well...interesting combination of brune and sour character. Further into the the palate adjusts and the bruin characteristics come to the forefront, becoming increasingly sweet and more typical for belgian brune style.

Bottle at Smokeless Joe's. Sour yeasty moldy aroma on a great big initial head (Lady, hold the residue or let me pour this myself). Expiry June 2010. Some fruitiness initial, but mouthfeel is unenjoyable, a great sour bite attack on themouth. Th malty finish is fine, but the mouth needs lots of time to recover. Not much taste there, but drinkable.

Funny label. That's the only positive thing I can imagine. Impressiveless, metal beer. Irritating malt taste.
L: orange, light brown, top dissappears quite quickly.
S: only dark sugar and strong malt;
T: really bad; sweet and very metallic;
M: empty mouthfeel, lasting irritating bitterness and duff malts;
O: a pitty.

A nice dark orange with lovely carbonation strings running through. The head is big, small bubbles below, big ones in the middle and a nice cream dome on top. Stays quite thick until the end.
Left the yeast in the bottle.
The smell is quite sour. Alcohol, honey, citrus, even a bit vomit like.
The taste is quite light and fresh. Malt, alcohol, hops, citrus, caramel, bread
Chocolate, hop, oranges and alcohol aftertaste with a slimy feeling.
A tasty beer with a nice taste pallet. But it lacks a bit of character

Poured into a tulip with an almost complete absence of head, so nothing to provide any lacing.
Aroma is on the sour side.
The taste is even more sour than the aroma. Not necessarily bad, but now I'm damning with faint praise.
Felt a little weak in the mouth.
Probably my least favorite Belgian beer to this point.

BB 01-10-05. Not much head that's quiet instable and a light brown beer that's clear. Nose is some carramellic note, quiet oxidated, sweetish, papery and overal very empty of flavour. No this one is far from fresh, and more a bottom fermenting yeast note that's very low. Taste is empty also giving wortsweetness, oxidated malts, bitter and phenolic and with that some alcohol. No this is not my taste and probably not the way it was ment to be tasting. Too bad of this brew cause the pils is one of my favorite's. Mouthfeel also quiet heavy as the taste is so phenolic and oxidated. Drinkablebut but far from a great beer.

I tried this beer on April 30, 2009 at "Smokeless Joe's" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beered poured a translucent golden-brown with a thin white head. The aroma was sweet malt, some grain, and some citrusy notes. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour was grainy malt, some sweet sugary hints, and a nice bitter finish.
