Bought in the Bierparadijs in Meer, Belgium. Poured into a orval chalice.

L: pours a fragile course bubbled not quite white but rather cream-colored head that rapidely reduces to a thin layer. body is crystal clear straw blond with some carbonation.

S: apples and yeast maybe banana, hops and some alcohol

T: a bit of sweetness, yeast and metallic aftertaste

F: tickling feel from plenty of fine carbonation. foams on the tongue. burpiness high.

O: Tastes and smells more like a triple than a blonde. I like it quite well only the taste could be a little more complex.

33cl bottle from Belgian Beer Station.
Like its dark sister, this refreshing blond has a thick, fizzy, noisy head, dissapearing very slowly. Serve this beer carefully because you will have a 10cm thick head before you can blink an eye. Pilaarbijter blond has a bright golden clear color with a nice and gentle fine carbonation.

The very yeasty smell can be detected from far. Only a light fruity note is added to the yeasty aroma.

The taste is light malty, fruity and reveals a clear hop bitterness. Sweetness appears when the beer warms up. The finish is fairly bitter and dry. Pilaarbijter Blond has a pleasant and warming alcohol presence and a sticky sweet mouthfeel.

Poured from a 33d bottle into a tasting glass. This bottle is probably over a year old.

A: A light golden color with a huge fizzy white head. Lots of carbonation. No lacing on the glass as the carbonation disappears quickly. Label says bottle conditioned, thus the fizzy head.

S: Sweet fruits of grape, apple, some bread, grain and sugar like sweetness.

T: Sweet juicy fruits. Tons of grape, apple, pear mixed with some grainy yeasty flavors. Yeast flavor is very St. Bernardus like. Some hay and grass. The mid palate sweetness is candy like that never turns too sweet. Finish is fruity with minimal hops, if any. Slight alcohol flavor on the finish, but welcomed.

M: A bit thin actually that does not last. A bit of alcohol.

O: A good tripel that you can tell is from Belgium. It was very St. Bernardus like with the fruit and candy sweetness, that's what I was reminded of. A solid tripel.

Overall a very nice little beer that I would drink at anytime. Glad I tried it.

A: a hazy, gold in color. with a very rich, creamy, consistent, persistent, white head. Waste is left behind on the glass

S: sweet notes, caramel, malt, some astrigency

T: it has a nice taste, but gets a little shorter compared to some other tripel, is not so weel balanced, sweet and bitter, but the alcohol is so present, even is not so high you can feel it evrywhere

Served on-tap at the Antwerp Beer Passion weekend 2011 into the festival 20cl stemware. Reviewed from notes.

A: Two finger head of slight cream, good thickness, and pretty good retention. Clear semitransparent yellow colour.

Sm: Mild strength scent of cream, malt, and barley.

T: Cream, malt, and barley. Quite simple, but refreshing. Balanced nicely, but built very blandly.

Mf: Smooth and wet, suiting the flavours of the body.

Dr: A very high price, easy drinkability, and bad quality. Ignore this one and move on.

A: Yellow pale color, a medium body and cloudy look, with a medium to prominent head formed by mixed to medium bubbles that dissipates a little fast, the carbonation is medium but constant feeding a top layer that remains on top but not covering all the beer.

S: Sweet floral smell very nice, complex more than simple also some fruits can be sensed maybe citrus, the malts are present and very little hops can be felt.

T: The tasting is also complex as may be expected with tripels first some sweet fruit like flavors and in the end some little bitter hops flavors. As normal with a tripel the alcohol is present.

M: It is nice but as the alcohol is present is not an easy one for the mouth, also the bitterness overcomes the sweetness of the beginning and a long bitter ending is a little difficult to process but not in a bad way.

Weird label on the 33 cl. bottle.

Looks golden, bottle conditioned but very clear ( i guess filtered), with a huge white head. Very low carbonation on this sample.

Smell is very malty, some yeast, spice citric hops.
First taste is spice, but mainly it's very common sweet malts. Quite one dimensional that way. There's some alcohol in the aftertaste, allmost a bit harsh, and the lack of carbonation makes the drinking experience a very ordinary one, unfortunately.

What a sensation it is when your pour this beer in a glass! I bought this beer a few months ago when i was nearby Gent in Belgium, on my way to pick up some westvleteren beer.

I poured this beer in my Struise glass and there is a HUGE amount of head. Very lively carbonation. With this smashing appearance it deserves the note exeptional.

The rest becomes more average. This beer looks a bit like Duvel. Smell some banana.

Brown 33cl bottle, best before 23 Apr 2012, drank as our third beer during one of my 'random beer tasting evenings' with the wife.

Poured into a 'Hoegaarden Grand Cru' stemmed tulip glass, leaving as much sediment as I could in the bottle.

The beer appeared as a hazy dull orange coloured brew, the head pure white and unwilling to stay around too long.

The aroma was a weak citrus mix with some yeast esters trying to get through.

The taste was almost sharp and tart, but not quiet that sour: lemon and grapefruit maybe, but not cheek suckingly rancid.

I'll go for semi-sour, however when I added the grist from the bottle into the last remnants of my glass the beer tasted sweeter and certainly more fuller than without the said sediment.

Bottle purchased from Green's on Buford in Atlanta.

Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a 1.5-finger white head. The head recedes into a thin layer on top leaving solid lacing.

Smells of sweet malts, lighter and crisper than is par for the style. Also present are good amounts of pears and much lighter hints of clove.

Tastes similar to how it smells. Crisp and sweet malt flavors kick things off with a hint of hop bite entering into things shortly thereafter. Midway through the sip it sweetens a bit and pear flavors with very mild amounts of green apples make an appearance. The fruit flavors carry through to a crisp ending.

Mouthfeel is good. It's got a nice thickness with active carbonation.

Drinkability is also good. I didn't have a problem finishing my glass and could have another.

Overall this is certainly a less heavy version of the style however I still enjoyed it. Worth a shot.

Appearance: Pours out a lightly hazy, light copper body with a smallish, white head, though it does have some nice staying power.

Smell: Lightly honeyish pilsner malts with fruity notes of peaches and pears and a minor hints of alcohol and spice.

Taste: Relatively light, delicate maltiness with touches of grainy pilsner malts. Some candi sugar sweetness, some countering spices. Thin drizzle of sour fruit juices. Soft floral quality with a very light bitterness. A tad boozier than one would expect from the ABV%. Finishes dry, spritzy, and with a lingering taste of those sourish juices.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Moderate carbonation.

Drinkability: So-so. Sort of a mellower, lighter tripel, which, for me, makes it a bit forgettable.

500ml (11.2 oz bottle), no date

A - Pours a dark and hazy golden to almost golden brown color. head formation is quite vigorous, bilding up a pearly white film of about 2mm. Breaks down to a light film with little lacing.

S - A spicy and sour bite dominates the smell - almost buttery which could be oxidation. Perhaps a hair of clove and allspice hanging around in there as well.

T - Starts off with a fairly straightforward bitter bite. Mid-stream some of the yeast spice begins to build. No hop edge whatsoever. No phenolic notes to speak of. Finishes with that buttery sour taste of either well done yeast work or badly done oxygen. Aftertaste is muted.

M - Thick and biting on the tongue - beer itself is probably moderate body, but the carbonation is stinging. Leaves a hair of a sugary sweet aftertaste.

D - A moderate to low drinkable tripel. I like the abv for the style without sacrificing taste and body, but the carbonation is quite a gut bomb to me.

Bottle. Pale cloudy golden colour, with a good head and great lace. Smells of coriander, citrus and pepper oily, vanilla, maybe?
Silky palate, sour and sweet flavors are in a constant battle, I'd say sour wins. Palate of tropical fruits, papaya and or mango maybe, banana, cloves... I refuse to keep looking for flavors and going to simply enjoy this great beer.

Aroma - Pale malt, yeast, esters, and spice. All of theses are pretty strong. There isn't much to search for in this one.

Appearance - Pours a hazy yellow with foamy white head. The lacing and head retention decent.

Taste - Yeasty spicy/peppery very dominate. Dry pale malt. Slightly tart from dryness. mild alcohol. clean, dry finish.

Mouthfeel - Medium to thin body, heavily carbonated, slight bitterness from the alcohol. Clean finish.

Overall Impression - This is a solid beer, but I've had better. I would drink it again, but there are several choices that I would go for first.

A - Cloudy pale yellow. Pour slowly.. this brew pours a huuuge head.

S - Yeasty tartness with a sweet fruit undertone

T - Very sweet overall. Hard for me to pick this one apart.. sweet fruits come out, similar to a pear. A small spice bite and tartness at the end.

M - medium/heavy carbonation. Medium thickness but the palate is left pretty clean.

D - Slightly to tart for me, but overall is a easy drinker.

I swear, I can not pour a beer into the Oerbier glass to save my life. This fella has a healthy 3.5 finger head that is pillowing out of the glass with 3/4 of the bottle poured. White head, slow to receed, nice translucent yellow orange color. Smell is a nice belgian like malt, maybe some pils malts in there, with some light hops and ethanol, almost Duvel like on the nose. Wow. Taste is right there. Slightly sour with a surprising sweet twist at the end. Nice balance with the finishing hops, an easy warm to the brew. Deeper in the class, more of a carmal note on the nose. Spongy lacing in rows. Really digging the sour/sweet battle this brew has going for it. A good complex brew.

Thanks to my bud RblWthACoz for packing this in.

This beer came gushing out of the bottle and wasn't gonna stop until the last drop was spilled in my clean kitchen. Fortunately I had the glass ready and attempted to get some of the beer in the glass. These are my notes:

A clear, golden yellow beer with a settling head and little carbonation, which isn't strange of course.

Smell of solvent, ripe bananas and higher alcohols. A lot of esters, typical for a Belgian yeast. Not a lot of other smells.

Taste is estery with the same hints as the smell, banana and higher alcohols. A typical Belgian yeast profile which appears to be similar to the Westmalle strain. The maltiness is biscuity and powdery with light caramel malt notes. This beer is not particulary unfresh, but lacks freshness.
