On tap at the Bier Abbey in Schenectady, NY.
Pours limp and red. Even before the glass is raised I can already smell a very tart, wonderfully smooth cherry aroma that's darn near New Glarus Belgian Red-level of crisp juiciness. Only the cherries here play up against nodes that are much more beerish than the Fruit Roll-Up flavors of NG's brew. The effect is sublime.
Tastes not *quite* as cherryish as it smells, but more varied. Dry up front, moving into gushing, moist cherry nodes and ending in a more traditional oud bruin bitter-tart brownness. Cherries linger far behind. Wonderful.
I got no idea why this isn't more revered.

Bottle to pint glass
A- pours a murky dark ruby brown color with a small off-white creamy head that leaves some lacing behind
S- tart and fruity cherry aroma up front with some medicinal notes, underlying musty Belgian yeast with some earthy aromas
T- tart cherries are showcased up front with a big fruity sweetness that kicks in med-palate. There's an underlying Belgian yeast character that is earthy and musty, leading to an herbal finish
M- medium body with moderate carbonation leads to a creamy mouthfeel and a smooth, slightly tart finish
O- very refreshing brew that hides the alcohol brilliantly, big cherry notes take center stage

This beer tastes almost liqueur-like to me.
Nose is cherries with a hint of prune juice...seriously. Taste is cherries, with a slight bit of sour on the end.
Very little hint of boozy flavor, considering the ABV on this one.
Good, but I prefer Three Philosophers if I want a hint of cherry. Definitely would stand up/pair well with a rich cheese or Black Forest Cake.
Don't drink it without some assertive tastes to oppose it.
