Pours a clean orange-ish to amber color with an off white head. In the aroma, a sweet, small caramel roast that is quite faint. In the taste, mostly dry, sticky sweet to a dry caramel like malt. A small bite and a medium to lighter bodied mouthfeel, with a small dry, sticky skunky hop. EH! Skunky hops, quite lagery for an ale.

Sampled last night on 3/22/14, Bottled chilled down to 36 degrees F in my beer cooler and poured into a handled glass stein.

Pours a nice pretty deep amber in color with a very thin off-white head. Some spotty lacing was seen when sipped but not a lot. The aroma of caramel malts hits you right up front first with some other grains. The taste is about the same with the caramel malt sweetness and fades into some hops and then has a dry and slightly bitter finish.

I bought a six-pack of Redwood Flats Amber Ale in a grocery store. Poured in to a pint glass.

Pours a shiny copper/bronze color, clear with a foamy off-white head.

Smell is a sweet earthy aroma, Sweet peat, leaves and grass fragrances.

Taste is as sweet as the aroma, with a cereal and caramel malt flavor up front, with a dry bitter grain flavor on the finish.

Mouthfeel is smooth and clean with light carbonation.

Overall a decent amber. These Henry's products are reasonably priced, and this one tastes pretty good so I'll probably buy more of this.

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle marked APR0113-C012009I Sampled on August 3, 2013 so I do not know if the April 2013 date is the expiration date. If so I am a few months late.

Still, it looks like it should with a medium amber sort of brass-copper appearance with a lingering off-white head.

The aroma is full of sweet caramel and toffee malts with a very distant, nearly indistinguishable hop note.

The body is a little better than medium and pretty smooth in texture.

The taste is about as sweet as the aroma suggests with a lot of caramel malts, butterscotch, and sugar and a subtle hop finale that does not linger. It does what it is supposed to do as far as this style goes.

12 oz bottle, slightly past the 2013 best by date, served in a lager glass.

Pours clear, deep amber colored, with a moderate size but exceptionally creamy head. The head has good retention and leaves a full coat of lacing on the glass with each tip. Lots of carbonation is visible.

S: caramel with some piney and earthy hops, but with a metallic and faintly musky tone.

T: Better than the aroma, but too mild. Caramel malt up front fades as the earthy hops build towards the mildly hoppy and slightly bitter finish.

M: crisp; light-medium body.

O: Decent, at least after it warms up a bit.
