Awesome brew! Bananas, bubble gum, smooth, easy drinking, low IBU, USDA organic, and one of the best Hefes I've ever tasted!

This is the same beer as this one:

The one in this listing is the American market version and the link above is what it is called in Germany.

The George Schneider Brewery is at it again. A long lost recipe from before WWII gone from fire and bombing has been rediscovered. A true Oktoberfest Weissbier but with a twist! Edelweiss. More on that later.

The initial aroma of this sublime brew is of rich and hearty wheat with a hint of deep malt. A wee bit of citrus is included. The pour is a dark amber color with an average 2 finger head when poured correctly. Give the glass a true German tap with a friend at the bottom, and magic begins before the first taste. The carbonation begins to set things in motion as the smell and appearance change very subtly and for good reason.

The taste is truly what is intriguing. Hints of an authentic German Heffeweissen with the usual fruits and wheat sensations and falling seamlessly into those wonderful Cascade and Hallertauer hop fragrances and aromatic feel. Then as the hops begin to settle on comes this flowery sensation with a tiny hint of mint. It's the Edelweiss. Yup Edelweiss. A white sacred flower of Bavaria and of Rogers and Hammerstein's song in the Sound of Music. This little flower does something magical to this bier that is very special. It gives the bier a taste that can not be explained. You must try for yourself and see. Simply remarkable!

If you're in for something that is truly a work of art by master artisans, look no further. This bier is very special folks, very special indeed. "Edelweiss ...bless my homeland forever!"

Oh by the way, its completely organic, brewed in Munich and is certified by both the CCOF and the USDA.

Just bought this at a local liquor store in Torrington, CT. Poured into a pint glass.

Hazy golden amber in color. Inch-plus-thick head that recedes to about a half-inch. A smidge of banana, citrus, and wheat on the nose. As it warms, I'm catching a little booziness. First taste impression is predominantly wheat with some ambiguous fruitiness; more citrus and skunky-in-a-good-way flavor as it warms. I can chew the head on this thing. Smooth carbonation contributes to a nice, substantial mouthfeel.

Just for reference, I'm not into Trappist ales because of what I feel is often an overpowering sweetness. This leans toward some Belgians I've had in the past, but it's much more balanced.

Me likey.
