appearance: A beauty with a lovely yeast infusion at the end

smell: Nice not an over powering banana smell but nice just enough

taste: Bit dryer than a usual hefe but nice more smooth notes

mouthfeel: Rich but nice, could drink it year round with a healthy flavor

overall: A wondrous beer I would have this again in a minute

To me one of the more unique looking hefe-weizens out there, pours a gold color with a real nice reddish tint.A small to medium head with aromas of cloves and yeast being the tmost prominent. The taste is orange-like and some cloves a real nice summer quaffer.A unique beer for the style.

Appearance: 500ml bottle. Poured a murkey brown/orange with large foamy head. The head didn't last as long as i thought it might (or as long as i remembered it to).

Smell: Fruity and light. Good spiciness going on here but not as much banana as i thought there would be. A little yeast detection and a hint of bubblegum sweetness.

Taste: Much more banana once on the palate. What starts spicey and earth-like turns into fruity banana and a light citrus with bubblegum chewiness and sweetness. Not as rich and full bodied as i would have liked.

Mouthfeel: Smooth and light off the top. Bubbly and dry towards the finish. An easier drinker.

Drinkablilty. Great for a summers day. There are other great hefeweizens i prefer (Dennison's) but this is a decent example of the style.

Appearance – This is really dark for a Hefe Weizen. The head fit the bill though. It rose up easily and never quite did go down.

Smell – There’s the typical sharp yeast flavor, but it’s a little on the toasted side, which is strange. Other than that, it has the usual light fruity profile led by bananas.

Taste – This is part dunkel, part hefe. The nice yeast is there but, again, it’s a little on the toasty side. The banana-dominated fruit is right on the mark.

Mouthfeel – Light but foamy in accordance with the style.

Drinkable – This went down like a good weizen. It wasn’t what I expected, though.

The 'Tap 7' variety, is not a patch on the 'Tap 6' variety. Similar in looks, chestnut grey and cloudy. Thinner, with a harder and rather spear-like on the palette tinniness (in comparison, between the two).

This one cost me e0.95 from the local specialist beer shop; the #6 was e1.19.The e0.24 premium is very well spent is my advice!

Purchased from Otto's Wooden Cask in Brown Deer, WI. Pours a bright dark gold body with a bright white head. Aroma is loaded with fruity esters, banana peel and clove. Medium bodied with a smooth wheat malt flavor, crisp carbonation and a clean, dry finish. Superb drinkability.

Dark golden brown with a thick frothy head. pretty thick lacing.

Bananas and cloves with a pinch of spice.

First sweet lemons and then light banana cloves. quite malty, with a bready finish.

nice full body and the right amount of carbonation.

pretty filling beer.

This beer does not pack the same punch that its bavarian counterparts do. It is pleasant but its character is lacking something to impress. I do like that malty aspect though.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 500ml or 1 pint .9oz bottle into a weizen glass.

Appearance: It had a dark bronze color like a Dunkelweizen. The body was hazy and had some visible carbonation. It produced a thick billowy head that was cloudy white in color and had good retention and slick lacing.

Smell: The aroma had a fruity yeasty character that stood out over hints of wheat malt.

Taste/Mouth feel: It is very smooth and creamy on the palate with soft carbonation and a good solid medium body. The flavor has a big solid malty presence with creamy wheat, sweet bready and lightly toasted caramel notes. Flavor notes of fruity yeast, banana and clove are present and well balanced. Its hop flavor is very mild and it finishes fairly crisp and balanced.

Notes: Overall I enjoyed its wonderful deep malty flavor and drinkability.

Darker than the usual weissebier, big aroma of banana bread and hints of yeast and clove. Phenolic character is expressive with clove and a slight medicinal flavour that cuts right through the wheat. This same phenolic character keeps its bite right to the end.

500 ml bottle, courtesy of BigLove, decants into a half liter weissbier glass a murky, rusty orange body topped by a gigantic, offwhite head. Retention is fair to good, and splotches of lace are left all over the sides of the large glass.

Aroma is spot on for the style, with spicy clove and pepper and banana. Faint notes of orangepeel and grainy wheat in the background.

Mouthfeel is light medium bodied, with ample carbonation and a peppery bite on the tongue.

Taste has citrusy banana and orange, backed by a strong spicy essence of cloves and white pepper. Grainy wheat, bitter grassy hops, and a yeast presence add a nice balance. Finishes dry, with a slight green banana aftertaste.

A very fine Hefeweizen, that looks different than other Hefes I've tried, but definitely is one of the benchmarks of the style. Very pleasant to enjoy on its own, but this would be ideal with about any kind of German food.

I had this beer on tap at the Half Door in Hartford. It was served in a pint glass, much to my dismay, with a lemon in it. I'll have to remember to ask they serve it sans lemon next time!

As the beer was served to me I noted its orangey amber color. It was cloudy but when you held it to the light you could see through it. The smell was a little floral and a little spicy and a little fruity. First taste was very satisfying, a definite taste of cinnamon or nutmeg and a little sweet. The beer is very well-balanced and enjoyable. Mouthfeel is smooth with the carbonation coming through just enough. This makes for an easy, drinkable beer. Terrific as the days get warmer! I will definitely have this brew again.

The classic hefe, medium sized bottle, has some dating info on the rear label, but it makes no sense to me. Pours dark apricot/brown, with almost a light purple blush. Fluffy light tan head, leaves ample thick lace. The familiar coriander and cloves both in the nose and following through in the flavor profile. Been enjoying this one for years, along with a lot of other beer lovers. Always tasty. You cant go to wrong giving this one a try.

One of my favourite Hefeweizens - the problem is that on this occasion my Schneider glass was caked with yeast flecks from an earlier indulgence, and try as I might I couldn't get the glass perfectly clean. Maybe soaking the glass in soapy water would have liberated the flecks, but I couldn't wait that long, so I just scrubbed it hard with detergent, then rinsed with hot water, scrubbed again with rinse aid, and even tried salting the water to clean off the remaining flecks. In any case, the flecks weren't totally removed, and I've practically wasted my expensive beer by putting it in a glass that kills the head. Stupid me... I just realised I'd never reviewed this and wanted to do it now. Oh well, I'll still enjoy it, but I'll review it again later so that more aromas can be detected.

Note: One of my favourites, and within the Weizen category, very individual.
