Pours darker then your typical hefe's. This one is a deeper amber brown. A small head formed on the pour which was very mousse like. Bold carbonation cascades to the top.

The aroma is more malty and grainy then others. Also the yeasty phenols giving the clove and banana aroma is very subtle.

Drinks tart and semi dry and very malty. Lots of malts in there.

By this time the beer was pretty much flat looking. It drinks smooth and clean in the aftertaste.

A different take on then others in this style. None the less it's still pretty good.

500mL bottle into a hefe glass
bottling number: 240214

A: Pours a very hazy, light brown with 1 fingers width of white colored head. Head has decent retention but hardly leaves any lacing. Darker than most hefeweizens.

S: Sweet and spicy wheat notes, banana-y esters, subtle clove.

T: Fairly spicy, lots of wheat characters (obviously), a big sweetness, subtle mild bitterness on the finish.

M/D: On the fuller side of medium bodied, carbonation on the heavier side which is appropriate, drinkability is average but it is pretty filing.

O: Overall, pretty good, but I had higher expectation. Certainly worth a try, but I'll take a Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier over this any day.

Poured cellar temperature into my weizen glass.

It pours with a one to two-finger, frothy white head and has a crystalline, copper-like honey-amber color. Like gold in the narrow part of the glass, and bronze in the flared -out part.

The aroma veritably bursts with banana, yeasty bread, vanilla, caramel, apples, dark red cherries, and lemon zest. A remarkably exquisite and intense aroma.

Flavors of both the sweet and tart fruits mingle with caramel in the taste, but above all else, it is supremely bready. As it should be.

The feel is quite carbonated, and, while not heavy, has a substantial weight and presence.

One hell of a hefeweizen. And I love that it has some dunkel leanings.
