500 ml bottle into weizen glass, bottled 4/26/2011. Pours hazy golden orange color with a nice 2-3 finger fairly dense off white head with great retention that reduces to a thic cap that lingers. Some decent lacing on the glass, with plenty of carbonation streaming up. Aromas of big banana, clove, citrus, pepper, bubblegum, bready wheat, and yeast spices. Nice and well balanced aromas, with good complexity. Taste of big banana, clove, pepper, citrus, bubblegum, wheat, and yeast spices. Lingering notes of citrus, banana, pepper, and clove on the finish for a bit. Nice balance of flavors. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a fairly creamy and slightly slick mouthfeel. Very smooth and drinkable, with no alcohol presence noticed at all as expected. Overall this is an excellent and drinkable hefeweizen. Nice complexity and great balance.

Poured into weizen glass
A: cloudy copper color with a big foamy beige head, fizzes down to about a cm of a creamier head.

S: very strong banana, hints of spice, drier bready yeast aroma.

T: bananas, spice (clove, coriander), apples. Some toasted grain and grassy hop.

M: high fizzy carbonation leading to a foamy/creamy mouthfeel. Drying hop bite in the finish. Very refreshing.

O: surprisingly dark and smooth for their "original" hefeweizen. As expected from Bayern, a delicious beer.

A-Pours a hazy liquid caramel color. Head is massive and has staying-power. Leaves random lacing patches. Nice looking brew.

S-Quite yeasty. Bread, banana, clove of course. Nice hop aroma which is surprising and attractive.

T-Sweet, and fruity. Like banana yogurt. Spicy with plenty of yeast. Finishes like moist banana bread. Hops are not as prevalent as in the nose. A bit more kick than other Hefeweizens I have sipped. I enjoy the 'rough around the edges' take on the style.

M-Lighter bodied with ample amounts of carbonation. Nice feel. Very smooth and creamy.

O/D-A pretty good Hefeweizen. I enjoyed this one. This isn't my most loved style but this one is nice. Nice little bottle for $3.99. No complaints.

A: Pours a slightly hazy mahogany with a two finger tall fomay off white to beige head. The head reduces to a thin layer of bubbles that cover the entire surface of the beer fairly quickly. Moderate lacing is observed.

S: Aromas are of wheaty malts, banana, and cloves.

T: Flavors are predominantly banana and clove followed by some hints of coriander and lemon.

M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation and slightly dry in the finish.

O: Awesome - a very easy drinking beer that is quite delicious and sessionable. Reminds me of the numerous visits I have made to the greater Munich area, enjoying these in the beer gardens in the late spring, summer, and early fall. Classic example for this style.

500ml bottle poured into a weizen glass by freshness date.

A:
Hazy mahogany color, thick off-white fluffy head with good retention, it gradually dissipates to thin foamy layer covering on top with some lacing patches. Carbonation is high and fizzy.

S:
Mellow big ripe banana, bubblegum, fruity ester, bready malt like banana bread, clove spice, all blends nicely.

T:
Banana kick off, malty sweet comes following along with citrus zest and some spice. Hop is there with vague bitterness. Tartness is at the end.

M:
The body is moderate, smooth mouthfeel with pretty good crisp and carbonation.

O:
Still okay but I personally would rather prefer Tap1 or Tap4.

A- Hazy light copper at the bottom, darker copper at the top. Two finger snow white head that quickly drops to thin ring. Lacing is chunky in spots.

S- Banana, cloves, coriander, slight cinnamon and apple and grape skins.

T- Banana and cloves, coriander with a touch of lemon and grass.

M- Light bodied, refreshing with heavy carbonation prickling the tongue.

O- Just awesome, there isn't much else to say.

ST: 1 pint 9oz poured into a weizen glass. Bottle does not list ABV or DBD.

A: Cloudy dark orange with strong carbonation, the beer has a large whole finger white head that looks thick like sea foam. It has great retention (over a minute.

S: Clove, banana, lemon, bread, and spice.

T: Lemon, bread, slight spice, some banana on the finish.

M: Medium and dry.

O: A pleasant weiss. It has some nice even flavor, a hint of spice, and is not overly sweet. The lemon citrus does help it achieve a refreshing flavor. However, it could be a bit lighter, could have more carbonation zing, and the flavor could be a bit more intense (particularly the spice on the finish). It also would be nice if it was a bit creamier.

A 500ml bottle with a BB of June 2012. The original Schneider-Weisse.

Poured into a tulip pint glass. A rich golden-amber colour with plentiful carbonation; darkens significantly as the last part of the bottle is agitated and poured. The final colour is a hazy dark brown - the biggest change I've ever seen when pouring a beer. Produces a large creamy off-white head with excellent stability - it looks great and reminds me of the head on Guinness. Aroma of wheat and fruity yeast esters, with dominant notes of banana and cloves. A slightly sulphurous hint in the background, and perhaps a whiff of alcohol.

Tastes of sweet wheat malt with a fruity yeast character and a dry finish. Dominant notes of banana, followed by cloves, bubblegum, yeast esters and spice. Subtle stewed hops hit the back of the throat, along with a hint of alcohol. Mouthfeel is thick and smooth, but seems a little flat. Quite astringent; coats the palate. Aftertaste of bananas and sweet, fruity yeast.

Nice - a solid weissbier. Lots of fruity yeast and wheat flavours swilling around. Smooth, balanced and refreshing. Would go down well on a hot day. Well worth your time.
