A definite classic, and considering that the Schneider brewery concentrates its efforts solely on weissbier, this should come as no surprize. Excellent spiciness, with strong clove notes, though not so spicy as to override fruit notes. It is this balance that gives this beer its rightful place in the pantheon.

This hefeweizen passed the ultimate quality test - when you suddenly realize your glass is empty and wonder where the beer went, then you vaguely recall drinking it in a semi-catatonic state of bliss. Poured much darker than most hefes - and the aroma was packed with yeasty aromas. Tingly and bright in the mouth, with loads of yeasty spices - cloves, nutmeg, anise - any more spice and it could pass for a spiced winter warmer. At the same time, the spices were well moderated and did not go over the top or become tiresome. I normally think of hefeweizens as a summer beer, but this one is going in my fireside lineup.

Walking around the streets of Munich, i was happy to have stumbled blindly into the Weiss Brauhaus where I had my first Schneider Weiss Tap 1 Mein Blonde... The beer served in it's appropriate glass had a nice golden glow and the taste was very smooth and delicious. The best beer I had in Germany.

This is awesome. Perfectly balanced banana/clove/malt. Beaut thick, persistent head. This is the ideal hefe. Everything is in balance and it is not just typical of style but the benchmark. Unfortunately its bloody expensive and hard to get. That's all I've got to say.

A: pores a wonderful dark color for this style, as it should as the original or standard for this style, everything else is to pale. Nice haze also.
S: Normal notes for the style but no Banana!
T: Wonderful, again no Banana! Is what I don't like about this style and this have none of it? This beer has big bold Wheat yeast and fruity flavors.
M: Vary crisp but not at all to dry.
D: This could go down easy especially if it by the L. and it was in a beer garden on a hot day.

The head is initially huge, very frothy, white in color, mostly lasting. Body is hazy copper/yellow, Light to medium body, watery texture, and decent carbonation. Nice aroma with notes of banana and cloves. The same can be found in the taste; the finish is moderately acidic, moderately bitter.
Overall a enjoyable brew.

This beer poured a very nice looking amber color with a big thick white head that dissipated within a few moments. The lacing on this beer is worth mentioning also as it was damn near perfect. Smell was of light fruits like pear, apple and peach. There was also a sort of medicinal aspiriny aroma that gave it a bit of a musty smell. Taste was pretty close to the smell, starting off with the aspirin taste and then finishing up with the fruit. Mouthfeel was really good...usually when I taste a Hefeweizen there isnt much hop presence, but it was certainly in this beer. Low alcohol content makes this a beer that one could drink for a while, which is nice for when your drinking for flavor rather then the effects. This is a really nice offering and one that I am delighted to have found over here in Australia. I'll definetly be picking some more up in the future whether it be here or back in Boston.

A: Poured a dark, murky ice tea color with a beautiful bone white fluffy head that exhibited great retention while leaving a moderate speckled lacing behind.
S: spicy, and fruity full of bananas, cloves and aromatic yeasty scents.
T: spicy as well with some cloves, fresh bananas, and dry lemon hints all backed by a great wheaty backbone contributing to the rich, creamy taste. There was some ripe fruit (pears) as well detected as the beer finished with a dry spiciness.
M: medium, soft, creamy and very delicious to behold. A sharp carbonation brings out the yeast character and attributes here.
D: Great drinkability, classic example and finely brewed making for a fine drinking experience.

Had this at the brewhouse in Munich. Served in a hefe glass cool.
A-bright orange (almost sex-on-the-beach body) and a thick white head.
S-strong clove, spice and bubblegum aroma
T-bubblegum is pronounced, wet, cereal and lemon flavors
D-great on tap at the brewhouse in Munich (despite some rude service) and complex without being to headspinning. I would drink this beer again.

A nice, classic bottle fermented and aged Hefeweizen. Although i drank it early (I believe it was dated 10/30/06 and I drank it around 1/27/06), I was still impressed. I had many American Hefeweizens/wheat but wanted to get my hands on a real good German Hefeweizen to see what it was all about. Schneider-Weisse did not let me down. It poured a nice, dark gold/amber color with a quarter inch, off-white head with decent retention. It reduced a little bit, but a little swirl to release some of the aromas brought it back. The smell was magnificent with the fruits and banana esters rising to the occassion. At first, a slightly bland, seltzer taste, but I believe that was just me because after that first "coating" of my tongue, the greatness of what was the German Hefeweizen let me know that this beer was uber. A pretty thick mouthfeel; not too overwhelming but you knew you were drinking beer. Overall, a very refreshing beer and I believe that the fact that it was not that aged played a factor into the overall beerness (unfortunately, I saw the date after I opened it). Still, a great beer and highly reccommended.
