From Leura. Oops!!!! BB 301306 :-(

A - golden blonde, less head than should be, no lace.

S - massive bananas, hint bubblegum. Clove, spice.

T - fair whack (technical term) of banana, add cloves, yeast, and aged semillon notes. Quite vinous, more so than expected. Almost some barrel notes as well.

M - let down - just bubbles in mouth really, fizzy.

O - Maybe an unfair review given it's out-of-date but still very drinkable. If only Australian brewers could do the same. Pales against Weihenstephan tho, especially in mouthfeel.

Pours a dark golden amber color with a nice frothy white head that stays until the end (which wasn’t all that long for me with this beer). Nose is ripe banana, citrus, clove, vanilla, and nutmeg. Fine champagne-like carbonation is very crisp and refreshing in the mouth. Taste is quite fruity with a bit of spiciness and some bready notes and a semi-dry finish. Near infinite drinkability. This is an outstanding Hefe. Great for a warm Texas January afternoon!

One of the best Bavarian Hefe Weizen beers available in the US. Best served in a proper glass, followed by a moment of sheer admiration at its beauty, then drunk. No need for lemon.

This beer poured a very nice looking amber color with a big thick white head that dissipated within a few moments. The lacing on this beer is worth mentioning also as it was damn near perfect. Smell was of light fruits like pear, apple and peach. There was also a sort of medicinal aspiriny aroma that gave it a bit of a musty smell. Taste was pretty close to the smell, starting off with the aspirin taste and then finishing up with the fruit. Mouthfeel was really good...usually when I taste a Hefeweizen there isnt much hop presence, but it was certainly in this beer. Low alcohol content makes this a beer that one could drink for a while, which is nice for when your drinking for flavor rather then the effects. This is a really nice offering and one that I am delighted to have found over here in Australia. I'll definetly be picking some more up in the future whether it be here or back in Boston.

Had this at the brewhouse in Munich. Served in a hefe glass cool.

A-bright orange (almost sex-on-the-beach body) and a thick white head.

S-strong clove, spice and bubblegum aroma

T-bubblegum is pronounced, wet, cereal and lemon flavors

M-light

D-great on tap at the brewhouse in Munich (despite some rude service) and complex without being to headspinning. I would drink this beer again.

A - one finger of foamy white head tops a bright amber body, lively with effervescence.

S - Beautiful hefe pungency, banana, coriander, clove, yeast with some stale mustiness.

T - Sweet caramelized banana, lots of wheat and coriander.

M - Slightly thinner than the top hefes, moderate to highly carbonated.

O - Another top tier German hefeweizen. Beautiful sessioner.

I definitely enjoyed this beer from start to finish. Poured a cloudy, golden brown after the yeast came into the mix. Massive head that remained for a good time. Excellent, somewhat toned down smell with some sort of fruit and a bready aroma. The taste reminds me of a spotted banana, my favorite, as the wheat does well to keep it from being too much. Ideal mouthfeel for a hefe and as drinkable as they come. Of the limited number of hefes I've been able to find, this one ranks among the leaders.

A nice, classic bottle fermented and aged Hefeweizen. Although i drank it early (I believe it was dated 10/30/06 and I drank it around 1/27/06), I was still impressed. I had many American Hefeweizens/wheat but wanted to get my hands on a real good German Hefeweizen to see what it was all about. Schneider-Weisse did not let me down. It poured a nice, dark gold/amber color with a quarter inch, off-white head with decent retention. It reduced a little bit, but a little swirl to release some of the aromas brought it back. The smell was magnificent with the fruits and banana esters rising to the occassion. At first, a slightly bland, seltzer taste, but I believe that was just me because after that first "coating" of my tongue, the greatness of what was the German Hefeweizen let me know that this beer was uber. A pretty thick mouthfeel; not too overwhelming but you knew you were drinking beer. Overall, a very refreshing beer and I believe that the fact that it was not that aged played a factor into the overall beerness (unfortunately, I saw the date after I opened it). Still, a great beer and highly reccommended.

Poured from a 500ml bottle into a Schneider-Weisse weizen glass. Deducted half a point from the appearance for the pain in the arse head.

Pours a cloudy yellow/gold colour with a massive head.

Smells fresh, yeasty and malty.

Tastes of very light malts, balanced with delicate hops giving a slight lemony zing to it, creating possibly the most refreshing drink i've ever had. The mouthfeel adds to this, it's thinner than many hefeweizens but works well with the lighter taste.

An absolutely perfect (for me) hefeweizen.

A: Cloudy, but thinner in color than I would expect for a Hefeweizen. But the rear label also classifies it as a Weizenvollbier. Orange yet slightly brown in color. Beautiful inch and a half head. I forgot to mix this one well and I see faintly what looks like slightly darker than the beer color, food coloring drop patterns floating in the middle.

S: Sweet cooked banana yeast. The most banana-y hefeweizen I've smelled.

T: Besides banana, there's an unplaceable mild fruity sweetness. A tinge tart. Alcohol is present in the aftertaste, which is surprising for the ABV.

M: Medium body, with very mild micro carbonation. Smooth.

D: Very good beer. I only wish it was a hair sweeter.

A very good and inspiring brew, this bier poured out of the 500ml bottle a great, hazy color. The head left on the top was quite apparent, and left a great lace as I consumed this fine craft brew. Notes of wheat, sure. And damn fine notes. Something slightly sweet and roasted at the same time. Appealing to me, which is a surprise, considering the fact that I am just getting into Hefeweizens. Still, if you are lucky enough to get your hands on this brew, by all means do so.

Zum wohl!

Pours a hazy light brown/dark tan with a thick creamy off white head. Definite vanilla and some banana in the nose. Wheat flavors from the start but they are then overpowered by the the banana and vanilla flavors, light clove flavors throughout. Nice fullbodied yeastiness and very drinkable. A very nice brew. Yet another good hefe. I have yet to drink a german hefe that I didn't like. I don't know if only the good ones make it over here or what but they all seem to be real good. Great for a nice hot day like today.

The head is initially huge, very frothy, white in color, mostly lasting. Body is hazy copper/yellow, Light to medium body, watery texture, and decent carbonation. Nice aroma with notes of banana and cloves. The same can be found in the taste; the finish is moderately acidic, moderately bitter.
Overall a enjoyable brew.

Appearance- Dark brown, murky and cloudy, nice thin white head, no bubbles to be seen, looks like alot going on

Smell- Wheat, yeast, lots of doughy ness, fresh odors of lemon and citrus

Taste- Lemon citrus up front and lots of fresh delicous wheat flavors, tangy fruits hit the tongue, balanced with some definite malt sweetness and slight touch of hop bitterness, a very refreshing sweet yet slight tangy blend

Mouth- light and quafible, carbonation can be felt as if goes down,

Drinkability- incredibly great wheat and was not disappointed again by schneider, so refreshingly crisp and pure, freshness resinates through the beer, very complex yet simply put refreshing as possible, cant wait to enjoy one on a very hot summer day

Pours very cloudy and brown with some gold color. The cask version skips a highlight of this on regular tap or bottle - the almost champagne like bubbles. Smells of citrus - especially orange and some lemon. Excellent hefeweizen taste with orange present again and a refreshing overall flavor.

I was thinking about hefe weizens earlier today. Why don't I drink more weissbiers? They taste good and I really like my hefe glasses, so I picked up a bottle of Schneider Weisse Weizenhell on my way home.

This brew looks a bit different than other hefe's, pouring a cloudy amber color with a good size head. It has nice aroma of bananas, vanilla, clove and yeast. Carbonation and a spicy bite highlight the mouthfeel. The taste? You get a healthy mix of everything above, most notably bananas, clove and yeasts, in this. I think I'll be needing to pick up a few more bottles of this stuff- hell, some weizenbocks, dunkels and kristals are also in order.

Cloves, bananas and yeast were most evident in the nose with a nice subtle sweetness. Poured a copper gold with a creamy white head that persisted quite nicely. Clove and banana in flavor with a nice sweetness and a very soft, but pleasant, tang. Very easily drinkable.

A - Poured from a bottle into a weizen glass. Pours amber, fairly darker than other hefeweizens, and with a foamy white head.

S - Malty, wheaty, yeasty, and with faint spices.

T - Akin to the aroma; trademark wheaty taste with more malt than some, fruity, citrus notes and spices.

M - Thinner than medium bodied, decent carbonation.

Notes - A prototypical hefe.

A: Carbonation is prominent. Darker than most Hefes. Has a dirty brownish-yellow tint. No head at all on this one.
S: A fragrant bouquet of honey and clove.
T&M: It's very light and clean, with a slight spike and then it goes mellow again.
D: I like this one and will come back to this beauty again.

A- Cloudy golden/orange with 2 inch off white head that fades at a moderate pace to a lasting lace.

S- Very fruity (banana and pear seem to jump out) and also some nice yeasty notes.

T- Nice maltiness throughout the taste. Wonderful fruit flavors mixed in throughout (again banana and pear jump out at me). Nice level of spice. Twangy and grainy wheat finish.

M- Strong carbonation up front with a medium body. Would almost be creamy, but the wheat flavors make it crisp overall.

D- Nice levels of carbonation and good balance of flavors make this very refereshing and drinkable.

Overall, this is definitely one of the best tasting German wheat beers I've had. Worth trying.

Had this on an unusually warm April day at Cafe St.-Ex in the early evenning and it was perfect.

Appeared a cloudy, yellow-gold color with a white, bubble-laiden head that left behind some lacing. Moderate to high level of carbonation. Aromas of ripe bananas, cloves, and dried leaves. A very earthy taste that is complex in how the varying flavors of tropical fruit, cloves, and earth meld together. Crisp, refreshing, and dry with a nice level of sweetness, but bitter at the same time. Very enjoyable, but perhaps a bit too tart for me after a pint or two.

Schneiderweisse hefeweizen

A - Pours a hazy deep golden color. Full and froathy light off white foam on top. Fizzles out not long after.

S - classic hefeweizen characteristics. Banana and clove dominate but there is a much stronger malt base which sets it apart. Dark bread and hints of vanilla round out the nose.

T - bready malty flavors up front but the fruit esters enter quickly as well. The flavors of the tropical fruit and sweet bread meld into banana bread. Phenols come out more mid palate with clove and pepper along with what seems like some earthy hop presence for balance.

M - medium bodied with very high champagne like carbonation.

O - a benchmark of the style. Incredibly flavorful and a wonderful companion to dozens of foods.

Poured from tap at Prost Portland into Schneider branded hefeweizen glass.

Pours with about as gorgeous a head as one could ask for. About 2 inches of magical froth fades to a thick white lace. Hazy straw hue. Perfect.

The most amazing thing about this hefe is the nose. Unlike many others, this one has a LOT going on. The aromas are nicely delineated with banana and clove dominating up front. After a moment one finds the Belgian style yeast and bread note framed by a mild straw aroma with pepper and a hint of anise. I'm content to sit at the bar like a freak with my nose in the glass getting a foamy nose tip!

Flavors are nice and welcoming with yeast dominating. There is more fruit on the palate and a hint of spice and straw all coming together. Good palate, but the nose was much more impressive.

Body is light but the texture is good. Great balance of alcohol, acid, and malts. Finishes with a medium intense finish focused mostly on malt and yeast.

Overall one of the big three of the German hefeweizens (along with Weihenstephaner and Franziskaner) and deserving of being ranked up towards the top with those brews!

9 oz. Bottle. Poured in into it's own Schneider Weisse .5Ml glass.

Appearance: Beautiful amber/orange, almost dark enough for a dunkle for god-sake, nice looking beer, builds a strong head initially but then quickly dissipates to around a 1/4'", has excellent lacing.

Smell: Nice clove and banana as fits the style but also quite a bit of malt flavor.

Taste: Nice, unique for a Hefe, it has the givens as in banana etc. but they are all there behind a nice malty curtain. Really a great hefe to have "when you're having more than one".

Mouth feel: Highly carbonated but easy on the palate, very enjoyable.

Drinkability: Very drinkable, great cookout beer.

A really good Hefe, unique flavor profile. The price is the only issue as it's substantially more than Weihenstephaner and it's (almost but) not quite that great. Like I said, one to buy a few bottles of and appreciate from time-to-time as variety is truly the spice of life.

Magnificent cloudy orange-amber body with perfect white head, leaving thick laces. Banana flavour, clove hints. Invigorating taste of bananas & mild malt, rather sweet and smooth. The fact I haven't found too many facets of the taste slightly upsets me. Fruity aftertaste, without lollipop harshness.
