0.75 bottle rolled on the table to suspend the yeast. Had this beer before with the yeast well set and it lost a lot like any Kristallweizen seems inferior to the real deal.

first pour gives a murky orange body and a gigantic foam that is a bit coarse bubbled but has Weizenbier stability and laces like a painter, medium carbonation of coarse bubbles

aroma of grassy hops with some grapefruit - nice! With banana and clove from the Weizenbier yeast, some light malt.
(This review is based on a bottle beyond its best before date and therefore the hops aroma has a bit diminished compared to what I already had, but notes helped my nose to find the aromas again.)

Head tastes very hoppy and peppery. And now to the liquid: malty sweetness with wheat twang, moderate to light bitterness from center to finish and I do get the minty hops mentioned on the label.

Body is light and creamy from the yeast like it should be in a good Weizen.

This is a well crafted Weizenbier with an interesting new hop from the Hallertau that makes it special and fresh.

2013 vintage. Watch out when opening this one up, mine blew up in my face, so keep your glasses handy.
Hazy pale yellow-golden, huge foam also. Smells of banana, green hops, bubblegum, oranges and exotic fruit. Perfect hoppy smell.
Taste is really fruity, with acidic (and sour) apple and pear, nice citrus (lime, oranges and slight tangerines, with grapefruit in the finish), banana comes in second, along with some exotic notes of passion fruit and lytchee. As wheaty as any good hefeweizen, a nice support for the flavourful hops. Lots of spice, with classic clove, but also lots of white pepper and some fresh coriander. Not so heavy on the yeast, also not a lot of sediment on the bottom. Hops bring a mild bitterness, but most importantly great green herbal notes, slightly floral and fruity till the finish.
A bit too fizzy and lacking the ”chunkiness” expected in a hefeweizen, might actually be a kristall. Still, this does enhance the acidity, making it even more refreshing.
Great hops in a great Schneider brew, thirst-quenching, indeed a ”Sommer Weisse”.

I was pleasantly surprised by the Sommer Weisse as I usually don't fall for many beers under 6%. This is an outstanding exception. The taste is unique and light and refreshing at the same time. It PAIRS amazingly with some good, strong mountain cheese from Switzerland or Austria. Somehow the flavor profile is both smooth and light yet also strong enough to hold it's own next to the pungent-est mountain cheese I could find. WOW! I really hope they decide to make this a permanent offering at Schneider Weisse or I'll be really sad when the stockpile I've been hoarding eventually runs out some day!

Served on tap in a chalice glass

Appearance – The beer is served a light orange amber color with a one finger head of pure white foam. The head has a good level of retention very slowly fading to leave a decent level of streaky lace on the sides of the glass.

Smell – The aroma is big of a yeasty and banana smell with a moderately strong showing of a wheaty smell. Along with these aromas comes some lighter notes of an orange nature as well as some spice aromas of a clove and coriander. Some candied sugar and bubblegum aromas are there as well creating a rather pleasant hefe aroma overall.

Taste –As the nose would have suggested the taste begins with a nice hit of wheat bread and yeast. At the same time some very fruity flavors are present as well with orange, peach and lemon all being there. These upfront flavors create a nice base flavor for the brew, lasting through the entire flavor profile. Some spice and a good showing of bubblegum and candied sugar develop more toward the middle reaching their maximum potency once they fully develop toward the middle. The sweeter sugary flavors fade ever so slightly as the taste moves onto the end, being overtaken by a bit more spice and some grassy and hay flavors. In the end the mix of wheaty, yeasty and spicy, fruit and sugary sweetened tastes leaves a very pleasantly smooth flavor to linger on the tongue.

Mouthfeel –The body of the beer is quite light and thin with a carbonation level that is on the higher side. For the style and the tastes the mouthfeel is very nice, making for a very easy drinker.

Overall – A quite tasty hefe that is very easy drinking and quite balanced overall.

The colour is pale amber (7 EBC), the liquid somewhat cloudy. The high head is compact and off-white. Good retention and fine lacing.

The smell got tart phenolic wheat-notes and a notable bitterness. Passion fruit, fruit bubble gum and orange zest. Fresh spicy notes of herbs.

The taste is sweet and fruity with refreshing notes of lemon lime soda. Fruit bubble gum flavours. The flavours are smooth and balanced. Hints of fresh herbs and hints of (American hop) perfume. Medium body. Sweet aftertaste with some wheat-notes. The finish is sweet and flowery with some cloves.

The carbonation is medium strong; small fresh bubbles. The liquid is a bit sticky.

A balanced and sweet hefeweizen, well suited for summer cuisine with light flavours and textures. A bit too sweet though, and the new world hops aren't full integrated in the taste, but those are just side remarks.

On-tap at Northdown. Served in a tulip.

A - White foam settles to a thin cap, thick collar, and minimal lacing. Hazy peach-straw body.

S - Loads of banana, wheat, bubblegum, tropical fruits, and a bit of phenolic yeast.

T - Taste is quite similar, with a massive dose of wheat, a kiss of sweet pale malts, stone fruits, and tropical-themed bubblegum.

M - Crisp, higher carbonation, medium body, clean finish, and your expected grainy, wheaty texture.

D - A very nice weiss beer, although I'm not sure how this differs from Schneiders regular lineup. Perhaps they've incorporated some of the newer German hop varietals, as I got a bit of the same melon character I got from Half Acre's recent cask experiments. Need to try, but probably not worth the price premium it commands.

Poured from overly aggressive tap into Maudite tulip at Kickbacks in Jacksonville, FL.
Crazy white head over a hazy golden color. Great hefe meets fruity aroma - but more sweet hefe notes. Very inviting.
Taste is fruity grapefruity hop and hefe banana and clove. its sweet but malty. Light body but worth drinking.
Great brew...I deff recommend on tap. Ive seen the bottle for like $20...not worth that much unless you are a huge Hefe fan...but deff different and tasty. Wish this came in a more affordable 6er...and it would be a great session brew. actually...an amazing session brew.

On tap at Kickbacks in Jax. Poured into a snifter. Huge, fluffy, white head, high retention on a hazy, pale yellow body. Soapy, sticky lacing. Aroma is banana, bubble gum, white pepper, lemon zest, clove, coriander. Maybe the best smelling hefe I've ever encountered. Taste follows suit, slightly more white pepper than expected. Delicious in every way, simply awesome.

A: Massive crystal white airy head is what fills the glass. After a while the head starts to settle, slowly, as the liquid rises; hazy pale golden with lots of small bubbles in it. Nice lacings.

S: Rich wheat; ripe bananas. Ripe oranges and some lemon sezt as well. Bready and a bit flowery. Yeast and spices.

T: Bready and obvious wheaty, but the wheat is a bit more held back compared to the smell. Not bad at all, since the barley balances the wheat you get a well balanced breadyness. But of course, the ripe bananas are there as is the yeast and spices.

M: Body is rather light but very smooth. The strong carbonation isn't too offensive. Aftertaste is short, but holds both sweet and bitter.

O: A nice Hefe, with a little less wheat-dominance than usual. In this beer, that's a good thing!
