In the middle of a roadtrip back home from Virginia this met the perfect timing for a rest stop/bathroom break. Doesn't look like more than your typical beer barn from the outside, but the inside is a different story. Probably about 35% of space dedicated to beer, with the bulk of that craft. Solid selection of Belgian, German and UK stuff as well as available American micros (Southern Tier, Troeg's, Stoudt and even Brewer's Art from Bawlmer). I guess I expected a little more availability of stuff I can't get in Boston (Bell's, Sly Fox) but I'm pretty sure they may be out of the distribution zone for these, so that's my bad (edit: this was confirmed by another BA - no Bell's or Sly Fox in MD - thanks!). Someone in the beer section asked if I needed help in passing...that's fine. Prices are pretty damn reasonable...Cantillon St. Lam here: $30.99. In Boston: 2 Andys.

I didn't check dates on anything but it all looked like it was moving - not much dust. One drawback - this place reeks a bit of stale macro emptys. That's really my only beef.

Overall, very good store with a lot of variety and decent prices.

Has a lot of expired beer like someone said. I rated it high for the excellent tasting events they have.

Watch out for old beer!!!
Great place, huge selection and decent prices, I'll definitely be back. But I was stunned by the number of expired beers I saw. Saw multiple variety 12 packs that were 9-12 months old. I wouldn't trust anything that doesn't have a date on the bottle. Unless you're looking for an aged barleywine, etc.

Just returned from a road trip State Line and I have to admit, it really is a damn fine outlet! The staff were very helpful, they had everything I was looking for except 22oz Torpedo, which they had run out of and one of the guys actually apologized for having done so. Their web site is accurate, they have a ton of beers and a bunch of taps in the back. In all, it was well worth the 90 minute drive! Dropped $135 and came away feeling like a total winner.

I do a lot of travel around the country for work and play, and make it a point to hit beer stores every where I go. This store is the gold standard, and while it might sound homerish, I've yet to find its equivalent or better. This includes highly rated stores in the biggest beer markets/cities. If it's distributed to MD, Stateline will get it. Prices are reasonable to great when you catch items on sale--say during Belgium beer month, or during tap takeovers. Adding a growler station with a nice selection of 20 taps is just icing on the cake. Frankly, Stateline has ruined other stores for me: b/c of how great of a store it is, and how frequent I shop there, it's rare that I'll walk out of a store and be impressed overall. But I'll keep trying!

This is what it's all about. This is easily the best beer shop that's within an hour's drive of me, if not the best on the east coast, if not the best outside of John's in Portland. There's plenty here to satisfy any discriminating beer enthusiast. I was in the area and just stopped in to check the place out, and before I knew it, I was $50 in the hole...and that was me showing some restraint. Not only is the beer selection great, they also have a nice rack filled with glassware. As a rampant collector, of course there was really nothing I haven't seen before, but to the beginner or even intermediate collector, the selection of glass was pretty impressive. There's also a growler filling station near the back.

The staff was friendly and helpful, and at least two people asked if I needed help while I was there, so I'm sure they are pretty knowledgeable as well. Prices are about right all around.

This place is definitely worth checking out if you find yourself within a reasonable distance. I live about 45 minutes away, and I dare say I'll be going back soon enough.

Didn't look like much from outside, but wowzers, don't judge. The beer selection is HUGE, and you can purchase singles of EVERYTHING. Service was fantastic and extremely helpful, both over the phone and in store. Only bummer is their online inventory was wrong (no Sam Adams doppelbock in stock). They even have what appeared to be a bar or growler set up in the back. I drove 2 hours round trip to go, and it may be worth the trip again, great selection at reasonable prices.
