Carlsberg Elephant is a so-called ’Bock Bier’, brewed for the first time in 1959. The ample use of malt gives Carlsberg Elephant a vinous and rich character with apple, melon, banana, and caramel flavours balanced with a dry bitterness and hints of oak, bark, nuts and pine needles. The colours is pale gold with white foam.

The elephants on the beer’s label are inspired by the two pair life-size elephant statues, which form part of the main entrance to the Carlsberg Group’s headquarters in Copenhagen.

Full tap pull at Saivage Social Pub in Toulouse, France.
Little flat on presentation. Foam didn’t linger.
Nose is skunky pilsner.
Taste is weaker than the aroma. It’s sweet, got a tad of funk.
Mouth is malt liquor-ish, full, medium carbonation.
Overall, While I still swear to not drink beer from green bottles, nice to get a tap hit.,.

1/6/24 Poured from bottle purchased from Vintage Estate Wine and Beer Store in Boardman OH.

Beautiful clear gold/amber.

First initial thoughts... Smooth, sweet, and better than i was expecting due to the low BA rating.

Not too much on the nose, a slight corn aroma.

Surprisingly sweet, the flavors of corn, green apple, banana, malt and a slight metallic ending each come through.

Smooth in the mouth with light carbonation. Not a beer I'd order, but good to have picked up a new beer style and country!

Nice mouthfeel

First had this when 16 in Denmark. Something tells me it's not the same beer sold in the USA 55 years. Maybe all beer tasted better at 16, but this is such a let down of some great memories.

Very much a Euro version of Steel 211 or Colt 45. Not really good beer here.

When next in Denmark, I will certainly give it a complete and fair re trial.

Phenomenal. Exactly what I've been looking for in a Germanic Pilsner. I'm aware this is not a German beer, but it's from Danes, who are a Germanic people. So I'm calling it a Germanic Pilsner.

Anyway, this is so much STANK I love it. Exactly what I love about these imported pilsners. A great stank.
Thick feel yet refreshing. That is not an easy feat, to be both THICC yet FRESH but here you get both.

Elephant beer. As awesome as it sounds. Buy a 6'er today!

Pretty standard international lager with a little more punch, great as a buzz starter kit

i have moved to germany! didn’t have time to go to an off license, so figured i’d get one beer in the shop, and this was the only can they had in the fridge, not exactly the nice german beer i was hoping to have but certainly a beer i’ve been meaning to try, it’s rough enough, heavy, malty, brown bread, quite sweet, caramel, a vaguely fruity flavour, boozy, whiskey, a little bit of astringency, medium to full bodied, low to medium carbonation, it’s not so good

1. The design of this beer on bottles and tin cans carry its history as well as its legacy.
2. Coming to the color of the beer, it has a lovely Gold-Amber color and its foam is 2 finger head. Proves that the perfection in its craftsmanship at brewing.
3. Now comes the important part: TASTE; At first, it has a heavy hoppy taste and then it leaves an apple-ish aftertaste. The hoppy flavor is something that is interesting and delicious. It is smooth as well as tingly to the mouthfeel, this is something that I love this beer for.
4 Feel: It leaves a fruity green apple aftertaste by which, it makes the beer delicious. It is brewed with perfection and this taste is worth it in any weather.

Conclusion: Super refreshing, fruity and perfect.
A bottle of Carlsberg Elephant and Spicy Barbeque Chicken is simply my favorite combination. Big love to this brand and enjoy drinking beer my friends.

Dates best before 10/26/23, under refrigeration when purchased and since purchasing.

11.2 oz bottle acclimated to 53°F and poured into a pilsner glass.

Pours a clear, vibrant, yellow gold with a 1/2 finger white head, leaving good soapy looking lacing. Also present is an Easter steak of bubbles from the bottom.

Initial aroma is skunky, a little marijuana, and just the general smell you'd expect from a lager, crisp and yeasty with some hops present. After agitating the hops prevail, the yeast remains, and I noticed something of a little sour.

Initial taste before swallowing is bready and sweet malt, and a little skunk. After swallowing I get a slightly rough grainy malt taste, with some alcohol burn developing in the middle and growing some by the end of the aftertaste, reminiscent of a clear spirit. I'm likely confusing alcohol fumes, but I maybe am getting a little bit of fruit esters? Pear? (Edit: after reading the description and seeing the word dry, I totally realize that it is indeed dry)

Feel is fine, has maybe a tiny bit of chewiness to it but not a lot to speak of, but simplicity is good. Carbonation is great, the head rejuvenates in a fervor when agitated.

Overall not bad, not great. I certainly enjoy plain lager quite a bit but they're tough to review for me. Definitely solid just a little lackluster. Carbonation was very nice, smell was a little not great.

Not likely to buy again but it's definitely possible, I certainly enjoyed it, just not tremendously. I mostly bought it to add the bottle to my collection of elephant things.

Drank from a can so my I did not see the beer. Unpleasant fruity smell. Taste is much the same. Not very good. This beer was legendary when I was growing up, but my tastes have changed. Not for me!
