11.2 oz bottle poured into a pint glass. Neck stamped 21110311.

Appearance - Clear pale straw body. Pours big white head with irregular but decent stick and decent to low retention.

Smell - Extreme musky corn. Wet cardboard. Marijuana.

Taste - Corn. Stale water. Very noticeable alcohol.

Mouthfeel - Watery body. Creamy head. Somewhat effervescent, especially after a vigorous swirl.

Overall Drinkability - Thoroughly let down, especially after trying Carlsberg's "Elephant" which was a pretty decent beer.

Someone left a bottle at my house, so I decided to try one.

A: Pours bubbly, at a clear golden color. About 1 or 2 fingers of thick white head, with decent retention. Left nice lacing.

S: Very grainy, with some skunky-ness.

T: Follows smell; grainy/grassy flavor with some sweet malts. Not much by the way of hops. Kinda reminds me of a prairie.

M: Light bodied and heavily carbonated. Very crisp finish.

O: This just doesn't stand out to me. The dry finish makes it drinkable, but it has a weird flavor.

I've been studying in london and have been encountering lots of beer i wouldn't normally find in the states. This beer is an average pale lager and is my go to when i can't get stella or becks. This is still easier to drink than the big three light beers at home in my opinion but again is nothing i would go out of my way for. Easy to start of a night with a few of these guys

330mL bottle. No discernable brew date on label.

Appearance: Light golden color, quite clear. Almost a finger of dense white foam. Head retention of about two minutes. Left lacy rings down the glass.

Smell: A bit of lager skunk, with corn and malt odors.

Taste: Not much. Both malt and hops are understated; hops especially so. Is that an adjunct flavor I now taste? Metallic as well. Not appealing.

Mouthfeel: Light bodied, with a crisp, dry finish. Lots of carbonation.

Overall: I would give this one a pass. While it is marginally better than some other euro lagers, there are so many better choices. I don't find it very refreshing because of the strange taste profile.

Carlsberg....on tap at Dark Horse bar in Tribeca, Manhattan, NYC.

Appearance-pale yellow gold with a large white head, typical of the style but still a lovely sight in the large thin glass. Lace crackles and pops before dissolving away.

Smell-faint malt and wisps of grain spice and alcohol fumes, pungent but not in the best way.

Taste/Mouthfeel-medium mouthfeel, grainy taste typical of the style, very smooth, not much there beyond the grain, a little alcohol and light hop, could be trumped up a little more as is the common complaint. What's here is decent.

Overall-Not enough here to truly recommend, still at heart I think this beer is ok and better than most of its massive Euro Pale counterparts. Worth a try

The first beer in a green bottle I've had that was not skunky!
Pours lemon yellow with a decent head. Typical beery scent. Taste is good but slightly iron/ metallic, a decent hoppiness. Odd aftertaste.Overall a surprise, but I would not stock up on it.

Got this in a "Beers of the World" sampler from my folks.

A: Pale gold with decent head formation and not much retention. Good carbonation.

S: Smells somewhat chemical or metallic. Not much malt or yeast aroma.

T: Also a little metallic tasting. Grain is nearly unnoticeable. Hops way overpower it. Not very pleasing.

M: A little too watery. You really get the carbonation, not much feel of anything else.

O: Not anything I would purchase for myself.

It pours a light yellow with a tiny bit of white froth that's not quite a head. It smells skunked. We'll see.
It doesn't taste skunked, so I guess it just smells nasty. It tastes dry and biscuity. Not especially good, though. The hops taste cheap and there's not really much good flavour in it to speak of.

A- Green bottle poured into a pint glass with a crystal clear, pale golden body. Creamy white head forms to a decent size but falls as fast as it rises. Small ring and some spotty lace.

S- Faint aroma of general grains, sweets and slight hops, floral herbal feel.

T- A light flavor consisting of sweet grainy malt, sweetness and a small balancing hop profile of citrus and floral notes.

MF- Creamy light body with high foamy carbonation. A decent bitterness to the finish, more than other style examples.

Not much to complain about or to really love here. A decent Pale lager that is perhaps a bit better than many American macros.

33cl can

A- Classic pale golden, perfectly transparent. A decent hint of foamy white head at first, but it disappears very quickly

S- A hint of grainy sweetness. Then some lemon and herbal notes from the hops, a bit on the metallic side. Exactly what you would expect

T- Pretty much what the aroma suggested, once again just like you would expect. That metallic feel that was in the aroma is still there, and the beer feels very 'industrial'. Bitterness is quite pronounced for the style, expecially in the aftertaste

M- Quite watery on the palate but densely crisp and very lively on the tongue (dense carbonation). Decently refreshing

O- Boring and predictable. Nothing worth interest unless you just need something to quench your thirst

A - Pours golden and clear with a high white foam. Light carbonation in glass.

S - Skunky, earthy, and slightly floral.

T - A bland lager that has a bit of a crisp and refreshing feel. Not that bad.

M - Light bodied, yet crisp and well with food.

O - A euro lager that I'm sure us americans get an inferior version. It is quite generic but better than most of the macro produced euros.

Part of a Beers of the World pack from Cost Plus World Market.

Pours a hazy light yellow 1/2 inch off-white head that fades to a thin film. Small spots of lace dot the glass on the drink down. Smell is of sweet grain, grass, and a slight skunky aroma. Taste is of sweet grain, white grapes, and some light grass flavors. A pretty good level of carbonation makes for a crisp and smooth mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer and this is much better than the Elephant I tried before.

Gold color, clear. Lots of fine bubbles. Head looks very nice. Nice lacing on the glass.

Smells like a typical Euro Pilsners, but a little more assertive. Sweet grain, grassy, a little skunky from the green bottle.

Slight sweetness up front along with crisp bitterness in the finish. Malt is very clean yet pretty sweet, slight grainy. Hop character is light to medium, a little more hoppy than most Euro Pilsner I had. Light bodied, crisp. Medium carbonation.

Crisp dry finish and aftertaste.

Just a typical European Lager. Nothing really special.

Never tried Carlsberg before. I was visiting Solvang, CA, which is a small town that celebrates Danish culture in Santa Barbara County. This went well with a chicken sandwich. Nothing too special in the taste, though it was refreshing. A bit to light for my palette. I probably would not go out of my way to get one, but, wouldn't turn it down if it was offered. Definitely a C+.

While I normally wouldn't drink such a beer, i decided to, and was pleasantly surprised. I will start by saying. Have had the beer countless times in the past, but in California. This is my first experience drinking the beer in the EU. It tastes like a completely different beer then back home. Granted it was bottled a week ago.

Poured out of a bottle, into a carlsberg glass.

Nice head, but didn't retain too well.

Golden amber appearance.

Nice light, but hoppy smell, not skunked like the carlsberg I've had in the states.

Tastes is hard for me to describe, like most light pilsner style beers. It's crisp, and this perticular bottle, I found very balanced, and easy to drink.

Perfect to drink as a session beer sitting on a sunny European terrace. Would choose this over Stella,or any other "pinche" in Belgium. I know it isn't Belgian, but it seems to be served all over Belgium.

The beer is clear pale straw colored, has small bubbles and a white head that leaves some lacing.

The smell is rather weak, slightly sour lemon character, some grass.

The taste starts rather fresh, some white bread, lemon juice and some bitter grass notes.

Light carbonation, a rather smooth texture, a medium small body and some dry finish.

For being an Euro Pale Ale this is fairly clean and balanced (not too sweet), but no surprises.

I drank this from a pint glass...

The beer is pale golden yellow with chill haze and a white head. It's got that good ole skunky green bottle smell, hints of lemon grass and sweet malt. Taste is very light with crisp lager freshness, lemon and some biscuit with a slightly bitter finish. It's light with sharp carbonation and a dry finish. This is a pretty average pilsner, still highly drinkable though.

Bright yellow with a puffy baby cloud. Good layer and lacing.

Honey, earthy, light hops?

Honey-centric, caramel, malt, grass, bread.

Medium carbonation.

Not the worst lager ever, but a bit too sweet and the overall old, grainy taste of the beer is dissapointing.

Look: The beer pours a golden-yellow color, with a large head.
Smell: Yeast, malts and grains. Some skunk as well (green bottles….)
Taste: Boring, malts, yeast, grains again, very watery taste.
Mouthfeel: very thin body,high carbonation
Overall: I always try to avoid this the way, a german pilsner?? This is a European pale lager style as my bottle says, not a german pilsner…

500ml can, consumed therefrom while playing croquet on a sunny day in the UK. Yay.

A: Gold body, thin frothy white head. Boring.

S: Boring aroma of lager yeast and grassy hops. Not too bad, really, but just really weak and uninteresting.

T: What to you know? It follows the nose. Boring, water lager, but a clean and inoffensive one at least.

M: Light body, fizzy carbonation. Again, average.

O: I thought that this would be listed as a Euro Pale Lager, and reviewed it as average for that style. It's total blandness is more of a sin as an actual Pilsner, though, so I'll adjust my Overall accordingly. At least it's easy to drink, and reasonably refreshing. I just expect more flavor from this style.

Appearance: Pale yellow, big head.

Smell: Mild skunkiness.

Taste: Hint of grassy hops before some grainy/bready malt sweetness.

Drinkabilty: Another easy drinking beer for hot weather.

Carlsberg from the 7-11 in Hong Kong. Gives the skunky smell despite being in a can and a best-before date of May 2012. Tastes fine, nice to have a pilsner that actually brings a little hop flavor along.

We had lunch with the princesses of Disney at the norweigen village area of Epcot. With lunch I tried a glass of Carlsberg....which was quite nice. The appearance was golden clear with good carbonation leading to a foamy white head. the smell was nothing great...mostly grain. The taste was quite smooth and easy drinking. Went well with the norweigen dishes that we had. Certainly would have this again.

It pours a hazy golden colour with a nice two-finger head that settles down but doesn't disappear.

The smell is light and hoppy, but not too intense.

The taste is nice and balanced. Starts out malty, and gives way to rich sweetness and light hop bitterness. I would prefer more hop flavour, but it is a really smooth drink.

Nothing too exciting here, but nothing to complain about. I'd drink this again, maybe even by choice!

On Tap. Pours deep golden hue with light carbonation. Aroma is of light bready malt and slight hint of hops. Light, smooth body. Taste is a little bit of malt, a little bit of hops but mostly tasteless. I wonder if people drank this beer with closed eyes would they realize the drink beer?
