This store is primarily an upmarket grocery store. As of September, 2004, the beer selection has been reduced to one quarter of one side of an aisle (down from a half). The good news is that the entire range of beers is kept in a cooler. Not sure how the back stock is stored, but everything I've purchased here has been in good shape.

The selection itself is rather limited. Once the space demanded by all of the international lagers and boring micros/international brands is taken, there is little left for interesting beers. There are still a few interesting Belgian and UK selections in larger single bottles, but a fraction of what there once was. These latter selections seems to rotate.

There was a staff member or two who were quite into beer, and were happy to discuss it if they are around, but the shrinking selection hardly merits a question any longer. I've generally found them present during the day, rather than evenings or weekends.

Worth a quick peek if you're there shopping for something else. The down-sizing and dumbing-down of the selection are big steps in the wrong direction.

A nicely upscaled food market that specializes in natural, organic foods, the Wild Oats locations carry decent beer but in relatively low volume, i.e., it is a small part of their operation. Fortunately for the beer shopper, they carry high quality brews from major craft brewers along with some fine imports.

With limited cooler space many of the beers are left on uncooled shelving. Fortunately the lighting is also fairly subdued. The prices are inline for the quality of the beer being offered. As with the other Wild Oats locations service must be requested in this department, if any should be needed.
