This was on tap at essen haus, madison wisconsin.
The beer looks like a standard pilsner. Golden with off white head. A fair amount of carbination. The nose on the neer is bready with a nice spiciness from the noble hops. Not bad. The pilsner tastes like I expected. Some breadiness with a nice grain flavour. A hop kick is slight but there. I like it. A bit thin on the mouthfeel, though. I could (and might) have another. First from DAB, and not my last.

Light golden color with a thin head with low retention.
Faint aroma of grassy hops and some bread.
Sweet malt with a bitter taste to counter balance it. Notes of minerals and almost some oxidation.
Surprisingly with a long dry and bitter aftertaste.
Light body, on the boundery of watery, with good carbonation
Although it is a bit too thin, considering to be a diet beer it still conserves a good deal of flavor and its Dortmunder style. Much ahead of Adjunct lagers, light or regular.

Poured into Pokal. Poured cold. Reviewed on December 27th 2009, under medium artificial light.
Appearance: Forms a small fizzy white head that quickly dissipates. Lemon-yellow brew with medium high effervescence and no lacing or head retention.
Smell: Flowery/citrusy Czech hop and resiny/spicy German hop like aroma with underlying biscuity malt aroma. Classic Dortmunder aroma. Very pleasant and balanced.
Taste: Flowery and subdued honey/earthy taste with sufficient malt backbone. Balanced, like a Dortmunder should be.
Palate: Medium - light body but semi silky. Medium low carbonation. Assertive bitterness. Lingering, pleasant flowery/earthy aftertaste.
Drinkability: Well made Dortmunder, although not particularly unique its well crafted with no apparent flaws. Despite not being my favourite style of beer theres no denying its quality and therefore i am obliged to give it a deserving score.

I had to double check the bottle after seeing the 2 options here, but this is the Diat Pils, not export, though it has clearly been exported to here in the Middle East.
A - poured yellow straw color with little white head, disappeared quickly. Some carbonation apparent
S - corn, citrus and some light pine
T - grassy with a mild citrus taste. balanced and light
M - slightly carbonated and light oil for lingering taste
O - Easy to drink and enjoyable, wouldn't overpower a light meal and can be enjoyed on a hot day. I will drink more of these going forward.
