Urgh. This is apparently the botton of the DAB line, not that you'd know it from their promotional material.
Too light in colour, and that's this pils's best point. It's incredibly watery tasting, which would almost be a plus were it not for a fairly noxious, herb-like aftertaste.
The up-side? Umm... it *does* contain alcohol, and it *can* be followed by something else.

This is legit the best beer you'll ever try. It has defined my life and made it better on a day to day basis.
I'm about to get a "HANSA EXPORT" tattoo on my forhead, my inner bottom lip and a big one on my genitals.
Man, I can't stress enough how life changing this thing is. Try it once, and it'll heal all your wounds and sicknesses.
Yes, that means even veganism.
Try it. Just do it. DO IT.
It'll change everything.
Hansa is the best company when looking at beers. Be it Pils, Alt or Malz, they all deliver.

Classic »Hansa Export« comes in a can with a sailing ship on it. The brand brewed in Dortmund, Germany is a german legend since the 1980´s, when it was known as the cheapest beer around.
It´s an old school beer with a conventional german taste. Not for the weak in stomach that are used to american brews only.
For a while it had a cult status and merchandising like shirts and stickers could be purchased. Today it is only available as a can in export shops as far as I know. My advice: Buy it at one of the harbor shops when taking the ferry from Germany to Scandinavia. Drink it only from a can. Served best at punk concerts!

A - Pours a clear golden colour witha two fingered white head that retains well.
S - Plenty of hops on the nose and a little sweet citrus.
T - Plenty of grains up front, some nice bready yeats flavours follow, a litttle bitter on the finish.
M - Light to medium body and carbonation is full.
O - A very good session beer.

500ml bottle (labeled "Hansa Pure Quality" rather than "Export"). Pours golden with a large white head, lively carbonation and much lacing. Nose is piney hops and biscuit malt. Taste is the same with a firm crisp body. Finish is medium and balanced. Very drinkable, thirst quencher.

Incredible price on this stuff, extremely cheap. Best before 14.02.11.
It pours into my DAB mug a nice gold with a rocky white head. It doesn't seem as pale as DAB.
The smell is sweet and bready with a light pinch of earthy hops.
The taste is light with a kiss of hop bitterness and some generic pale malts. It is lighter in flavor than DAB. The mouthfeel is light and airy. For the price though this beer is exceptional, I would buy it again and again.
It would be easy to polish of a 6er of these in 1 night, the beer is very easy to put down.
Overall it is a style with few German examples that make it over here, of the 3 I have had it is the cheapest and least impressive but still a solid beer.

From BeerAdvocate Magazine Volume II, Issue I:
Not a well-known import in the US, but the Hansa brand in Germany has sort of an underground cult status due to its cheap price and popularity among the punk hipsters. Is this the cult equivalent to PBR and Schlitz in Germany? Thin white frothing from a medium pour, a little bit of lacing sticks to the glass. Clear weathered-straw color. Very clean aroma, hell, there is not much to it other than a hint of floral hop and a touch of grassy grain. Ample crispness and smoothness, with a light to moderate body. Clean palate throughout with a wet graininess that comes off a bit hay-like. Hop bitterness balances and with not much sharpness, though there is a lingering faint floral flavor. The malt lays down a thin blanket of steely husk which digs deep into the drying finish.
While this beer is not earth shattering, it is clean and flavorful enough for us to deem it a half decent session lager. Make it a night with some friends, warm pretzels and playing cards.
