Paul said that the tiger on the tap is GREAT; he had it at Penang and he claimed it puts many
lagers and pilsners to shame. On an occasion at Brauhaus we ordered the Tiger draft for Andre
seeing him quaffing (and wasting) Belgian Trappist ales. The Tiger beer from the tap is
definitely more refreshing and clear tasting with the good malt balance but still very plain
and I would not order it over most beers. I have to say that the Tiger is not a really
resilent beer noting that it tastes metallic when canned, slightly musky when bottled and
fairly ok on tap; it needs to develop some form of immunity I guess. :) (627 characters)

I ran into Tiger in various places as I bicycled around Southern Asia, and generally avoided it. It's really quite noticeably an adjunct beer, and god knows what goes in it. Of course, you expect that most Asian beers have a lot of rice in the mix, as that is what's cheap and available. But Budweiser also has rice, and maintains its inoffensive flavorlessness.

Tiger, on the other hand, tastes like something has gone terribly wrong in the adjunct department, kind of like too much corn really spoils a lot of American adjuncts. Mostly saw this in Malaysia, but also in Indonesia and elsewhere. Avoid it! (608 characters)

So the imported price for a Bud-esque mimicry is not what you want at all.

All the typical pieces are there, from the light look to the light taste to the easy consumption. This is a standard drink-while-you-watch-football taste, which you can easily avoid for much smaller prices. This is only good for the label/variety/tiger and otherwise Bud itself does the job and it's American. (385 characters)

Presentation: It was poured from a brown bottle into a Pilsener glass.

Appearance: The body has a pale light golden color with very good clarity. Its head is fairly thick, frothy and bright white in color. The head hangs on well as it slowly fades down to just a thin cap and makes some lacing on the glass along the way.

Smell: Its aroma is light and simple with notes of light grain, hay and grassy hops.

Taste/Mouth: The flavor is similar its aroma, not sweet and not too bitter. It has a clean and mellow grainy malt character with just a light grassy hop taste on the finish. The palate is very drinkable with a medium body, smooth wet texture and average carbonation.

Notes: Overall its not bad at all for a pale lager. (730 characters)

11.2 oz brown bottle with a best before date on the back label.

A- Good frothing white head dissipates into a thin lace that sticks a bit. Bright bubbly gold clarity shines in the light.

S- The usual aroma of an adjunct lager, no definitive malt in the nose just husk and cooked cereal.

T- Thin maltiness holds together for a modest generic lackluster hop bite. Clean and mostly dry.

M- Super crisp and pretty damn smooth.

A half decent lager, an easy pick when you want a weak flavored beer to wash down extra spicy Pan-Asian cuisine. (550 characters)

11.2 ouncer with no freshness dating. Pours pissy yellow, light and clear. White head. Cabadgy/bready/grassy nose. Light bodied. Medium carbonation. Macro tasting (Corn/rice in the mix) Slight grainy hop note late. Typical macro lager, you can do better then this swill. (270 characters)

The beer pours a pale yellow color with a white head. The aroma is very faint. I get a little bit of unattractive grain notes in the aroma but that is about it. The flavor is very sweet with some malt and grain notes. Not real hops character, but at least there are not any real "off" flavors. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Not a beer I will try again. (363 characters)

L: Brilliant gold to amber, ½” white foam collar that quickly dissipates leaving light lace.
S: Rich grain aromas joined by mild hops, light floral and faint apple.
T: Has some light flavor – light malt and grain, hints of apple, very light biscuit.
F: Crisp. Clean, light medium body and medium high carbonation. A little acid from the carbonation on the finish accentuates the dryness.
O: It has slightly more character than a Bud Lite. (447 characters)
