Canned at a Thai restaurant in Downtown Detroit. Was unable to take notes so the review will be fairly short.

A lot of countries seem to be getting in on the fad of making an inexpensive copy of the American Adjunct. Usually, They tend to do it a bit better than us. However seeing as this thing comes from Singapore I'm not quite sure what to expect.

Look - I drank this beer directly out of the can, So I can only imagine it to be a typical clear yellow with a frothed white head that fizzles to nothingless and doesn't leave a spot of lacing.

Smell - The rice is a dominate player in this nose, however it isn't the same type of rice and as a Budweiser per say. It is very clean and fresh.

Taste - This beer virtually tastes like rice. However if this rice were food instead of a beer product it would be quite delicious and crisp. Usually AALs taste rather stale but this flavor profile is basic and exactly what it needs to be.

Feel - Medium bodied with light carbonation. Smooth drinking.

Overall - Well alright, this was pretty good as far as the style goes. (1,073 characters)

Serving Type: 500 mL Can

A- Pale Golden topped by a heaping white head that has incredible retention. Ton of lacing on the glass. '

S- Faint aroma of adjuncts. Pretty standard for an AAL.

T- Pungent flavour of corn, rice, and god knows what else. The flavour of this beer was so repulsive that it compelled me to ponder on it's similarity to urine.

M- Light body and high carbonation. Standard stuff.

O- First of all, I would like to say that I have absolutely no objection to having a Coors, Budweiser, Miller, etc. but this AAL was absolutely horrid. I drain-poured half of the can (which I rarely do) and had to take a minute to think of my happy place and reflect on the pain I had just suffered. I guess it's quite true in this case that looks aren't everything. (776 characters)

A sweet adjunct Lager with a malty honey hint, it looks standard and comes through for what it is. No fault here as it is what it is and does it well, I'd be fine if someone gave me a 6 pack of this. Overall this beer is alright and tasted fine, don't get hung up looking for something...sometimes you just need to enjoy. (321 characters)

A: crystal clear; steady stream of bubbles rising; medium gold in color; 1 finger white head that receded quickly to a thin collar; no lacing;

S: sweet malt, a little bready; a little corn;

T: follows the nose; gets sweeter toward the end; no bitterness;

M: light to medium bodied; moderate to high carbonation;

O: not crisp or dry; a bad example of a style I don't like to begin with; (389 characters)

L: Brilliant gold to amber, ½” white foam collar that quickly dissipates leaving light lace.
S: Rich grain aromas joined by mild hops, light floral and faint apple.
T: Has some light flavor – light malt and grain, hints of apple, very light biscuit.
F: Crisp. Clean, light medium body and medium high carbonation. A little acid from the carbonation on the finish accentuates the dryness.
O: It has slightly more character than a Bud Lite. (447 characters)

Fairly yellow in color, sort of bright at the nose, tropical easy sipping. I think it is one of the better mass produced Asian beers out there. I would look for this over others into Asian beers. (195 characters)

Light straw color with average activity. White 2 finger head lasting around 3 minutes with average legs.

Faint aromas and flavors of corn, grains, citrus, herbal spices. More sweet than bitter with an undertone of apples. Strong artificial sugary feel.

Light body with prickly carbonation. Faint and short finish ending with an faint herbal grassy feel.

Overall the Tiger beer is quite bland with a rather unpleasant adjunct taste and nose, while the freshness if relatively good while being overly accessible. (513 characters)

I did it for a tick. Needed Singapore under my belt........ Looked very nice actually until the head recessed. Big, BIG corn smell. Like sweet corn. Like sweet, cream corn. Not a good smell from a beer. Tastes like unsweetened corn flakes. Again, not a desirable characteristic IMO. (282 characters)

500 ml and 330 ml cans (with revision from May 2015 can).
Fizzy yellow-gold beer with a large sudsy head.
Medium body seems heavy for style despite high carbonation. Earthy hops.
Adjunct grain? ... grainy (and not just regular malts) flavor. Similar to Heineken Light? (272 characters)

Purchased at the LCBO for just under $3.00 for a 500ml can. Served at 4deg C in a draught glass

A- Opens well and pours a high white head that is gone in less than 1min. Clear light gold color.

S- Not a lot here. Had to strain to find anything

T- Not a good beer. A touch metallic and tinny. No hops and a bit of malt. Just a basic sugar beer

M- Dry and uninspired. Just a mass produced beer

O- Did not like this one. Just a mass produced beer that reminds me of a Bud

Food Pairing

This ok beer pairs well with...... Corn chip scoop with cole slaw, mayo, salt and pepper. Hot sauce then a slice of avocado and a small shrimp. Hit that with a drop of lime (citrus).

Poured from an 11.2 OZ bottle into a "Boulevard" Tulip glass.
Aroma- almost non-existent, barely has a beer odor
Appearance- this is a pale yellow color with a very weak head
Taste- Not how I remember "Tiger" from my military experiences overseas. This brew is extremely weak flavored and has a faint hops flavor
Feel- Highly carbonated, light bodied brew
Overall- a complete disappointment! I have had this overseas many times in the 90's and when I picked up a sixer of this I was hoping to relive some good times from years back. That is not the case, I am not sure if my palate has changed or the beer doesn't travel overseas very well when imported. (657 characters)

Bought this because I have not had it, not because I thought it was going to be an awesome beer......Well, not too shabby considering 1) it comes from Singapore, and 2) it is probably mass produced, and 3) it is probably cheaply made with cheap ingredients...This lager beats out the other foreign cheap ass lagers by quite a bit. Still have to deal with the malty, cereal, cheap flavor, but this one goes a bit above with a smooth mouth feel and drinkability that I did not expect. Don't get me wrong, this beer is on the bottom of most scales, but overall, a nice effort and much better than the Palma Loucas and Famousas of the beer world !! (645 characters)

Sampled this evening on 11/20/14 but had this once before over 2 years ago. Comes in a 330ml (11.2 ounce) bottle. Does have a nice looking label and metal cap. Bottle chilled down to 36 degrees F in my beer cooler and poured in to a vintage 10 ounce 'hour glass' pilsner glass.

Brew pours a lighter to medium amber in color with a thin white cap with some light lacing seen. The aroma is of some sweet malt. Pretty much the same of the taste with what appears to be a light hint of apple also. Not real easy to drink as there is some bitterness for the finish. Strange taste also like it was made of stale grains. Lighter bodied with good carbonation. Not a fan of this brew and of this style much either. (706 characters)

Very solid and delicious tasting lager. Tastes great alongside Vietnamese food, specifically vermicelli noodles and chicken. Nothing too spectacular, but it isn't nearly as bad as the rating state. Cheap and satisfying. (219 characters)

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a light to medium golden amber with a thin, patchy white head that persists; light lacng. Classic adjunct aroma of light sweet malt, hints of apple and grassy hops. Flavor follows, light sweet malt with mild biscuit, light apple, a hint of butter; finishes with light biscuit and grassy hops. Light to medium bodied. One nice thing about adjunct lagers is that they are designed not to offend and this is a bland, but pleasant light lager with perhaps a bit more biscuit and light apple than is typical, to its benefit. Not sure why this rates at poor here, it seems to be right on the spot for style, perhaps a bit more character. If I was stuck in Singapore (not a hot bed of craft beer, I suspect), I would have no problem ordering this. (790 characters)

Tiger pours a light yellow with a massive head. This is a refreshing beer, enjoyable during the summer, and it's a beer that has a light taste, but still retains a flavor that ranks, for me, as a fine Asian brew, one that is much better than Sapporo or others on the market. (274 characters)

What can I say about tiger....it's the Asian corona light. I've had this on balmy NYC Sumer nights with friends and it's an easy drinker best when cold and with fried dumplings. Beats Coors lift anyway when with the guys . (222 characters)

Appearnace. Very pale in the glass this beer has a light amber colour with a lot of carbon dioxide bubbles. The head is reasonable but does not last very long at all.

Smell. There is a strong smell of apple and orange from this beer with a light hint of the barely so there is a slight smell of a summer evening in an Armagh orchard.

Taste. There is a mild note of orange in this beer but it is very, very mild. The main flavour is the barley.

Mouthfeel. This beer is dry in the mouth but not unpleasantly so. The aftertaste brings up a lot of saliva and causes you to suck in your cheeks.

Overall. Certainly not the greatest lager you will ever come across but for a European light lager style beer this is more than drinkable. The flavour is really rather mild so if you want something with more punch then it is not for you but if you want something that is light crisp and easy to drink then get a bottle and at the risk of sounding silly try with Asian food. (971 characters)

Serving out of a bottle. Was not the best beer I have ever had in my life.

A- When poured into a flute glass had a small tan head to it. It dissipated pretty quickly. This lager was a urine yellow color.

S- The closest thing I could describe the smell to is a skunked Heineken.

T- This beer tasted like a Natural Ice (haven't had one of those since the college days). Wasn't very appetizing.

M- Typical light feel on the tongue for a lighter colored beer.

O- You aren't missing anything if you haven't had this beer.

Cheers! (531 characters)

its another average asian yellow beer, but i have a special place in my heart for tiger beer, and not just because of my travels around the south pacific, but because i think it plays an important role in the beer world. its bright carbonation and lack of metallic flavors makes it a nice compliment to the spicy cuisine of its homeland. it cuts it well through heat and seafood flavors, and finishes super clean. i love it with good malaysian food because it cleans up each bite so i can taste it anew. better than many of its peers, its mouthfeel makes it work. pale malt flavors, a little watered down, but this is hard to beat after some time in the jungle for refreshment, and its also hard to beat with authentic thai or indonesian food too. its clean and drinkable, without the strange extract sweetness of others. it also, for whatever reason, doesn't give me the same hangover that most other asian beer does, i don't know why, but it just seems milder on the comedown for me. nothing special obviously, below average of course in terms of all craft beer, but in its context its a little better than most. (1,114 characters)

Aroma: some grassy and herbal hop aroma. biscuit and lightly toasted barley.
Mouthfeel: light, watery, fairly crisp with a dry finish.
Flavor: white bread dough, sweet barley malt, biscuit, cracker, with some mild herbal hop flavor Overall: very nice lager. More complex than many pale lagers. (411 characters)

I found this Singaporean Beer at Binny's Beverage Depot in Chicago and at Feldman's Market in McAllen, Texas. I must say this is a good beer from Asia, it has a simple but complex taste, goes down great, and does not leave you to bloated. It pours clear, with a light golden color, with white laces running up to the average head, which dissapates quicky. The body is solid, with decent carbonation, and has decent malt aroma. There is a slight metalic edge, but is overshadowed by a malty aftertaste. (501 characters)
