Poured from bottle into dimpled mug. An interesting beer. Deep amber pour with a thick white head. A little bit hazy. Good looking beer. The nose is a little bit herbal and woody with a bit of light hoppy spiciness. There is a decent bit of bready/crusty maltiness on the back of a nice fresh continental malt flavour. There is a massive, distracting metallic flavour on the back that is brutal. It completely ruins the impression I had. It would have been pretty nice without it, but with it there it's tough to take.

My first beer of this style. Brand new item at Grape and Gourmet. Other than the appearance, I wasn't impressed. Pours a beautiful clear orange color with a big, delicate bubbly white head. Retention is good, no lacing.

Smell is mild, malty, maybe a bit of cloves. Taste has maltiness, cloves but is kind of like a hefeweizen that has been on the shelf too long.

Mouthfeel is rich enough for a hefe-like beer but there is none of the carbonation and palate tickling flavors of a good fresh hefe. There is also a slightly metallic aftertaste.

Drinkability is just average, I could probably slam a few on a hot day, but would they be worth it?? Probably not!

Pours a clear copper with a thin tan head that dissipated immediately. Very little lacing on the glass

Smell is caramel and molasses.

Taste is more of the same with the malty molasses flavor dominating. There is very little hop presence. The carbonation is minimal, but sharp with more prickly carbonation than I care for.

The beer is unimpressive, though not bad. But for the price it isn't something I'd buy again.

Light brown with shades of burnt orange. About 12-13 on the SRM scale. Slightly hazy with fluffy long-lasting off white head.

Malty forward with hints of caramel. Mainly oxidation with malt presence and hints of apple juice and sourness. Little hop aroma and perhaps DMS.

Maltiness with hints of caramel. Lots of oxidation with some astringency. Perhaps some DMS. Little hop aroma.

Medium to medium full mouth feel. Medium carbonation. Slight dryness in aftertaste.

A beer that would benefit with a lot less age. I can see when fresh it would be a good beer. With over a year on it, it's well past it's prime.

500ml bottle.

It pours a hazy amber with a foamy off-white head that leaves some nice lacing.

The smell is hoppy with some herbal notes. The malt is slightly fruity and there is a hint of metal.

The flavor is nice. It has a nice hop bite, fresher than I expected. The malt is bready. There is again a hint of metal but it somehow works. The unfiltered yeast flavor permeates as well.

Not a bad dunkles Kellerbier.

A: Copper and amber with a half finger head and some lacing.

S: Chardonnay and woody aroma.

T: Mostly pale malts, wine like, mostly chardonnay finish with apricot and german spicy hop notes.

M: Moderate carbonation and medium body.

Overall: I liked this one. I hadnt seen if available before but I will be going back for another one soon to try it again.

Pours a light amber color with a one-finger head into my glass. Good presentation thus far.

The aroma is full of clove and banana with just a hint of wheat. Much like a hefeweizen but not quite.

Taste is chock full of clove that hits the mouth kind of hard. It's the dominant flavor but it seems rather "off" of sorts.

Mouthfeel is full of clove bordering on sourness. Doesn't seem to be right.

Not bad but it's obviously not a great example. Passable at best.

Poured from the bottle into a nonic pint glass.

A good but hazy amber body hinting to dark brown to just under the head. Head color is an off tan with some foamy like retention. Head is fairly small though.

Off the pour was a smell of ripping barley grain. Closer nosing senses less of that, and more grain malt muted sense. Light brown bread and yeast and a typical sense of dough.

Taste is light due to a noticeable wet feel. Following the nose of brown bread but with a watery texture. Palate senses weakened malt and prickly carbonation. Finish brings some bread yeast sense.

Overall not that great but certainly not horrible. Other Kellers were more interesting to me, but I could have this again no problem.

Poured from a brown 16.9 oz. bottle. Has a dark brown color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of malts, caramel, sweet. Taste is a good balance of bready malts and hop bitterness, some caramel. Feels full bodied in the mouth and overall is an enjoyable beer.

A: The beer is clear light amber in color and poured with a two finger high beige head that has good retention properties. A moderate amount of carbonation is visible.
S: There are aromas of caramel malts in the nose.
T: The overall taste is rather malty and has flavors of caramel in the flavors--somewhat similar to that of a märzen--along with some notes of bready malts and yeast and hints of spices. There's a light amount of malty sweetness and hop bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied and smooth on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
D: The beer isn't that difficult to drink but I couldn't see having more than one of these in one night.
