11.2 oz green bottle.

As open the top, no skunk, hooray.

Pours into my pilsener glass a deep pale gold with a big foamy white head that leaves some lacing as it recedes.

It isn't the hoppiest smelling beer, it has light earthy hops with a ton of pale malt.

The taste follows with earthy tones, the malt is very interesting. This beer tastes like a "farmhouse" lager it tastes very organic and earthy.

Overall a suprisingly good and drinkable beer.

Draft at Gourmet Haus Staudt. Clear pale gold body capped by a tall lasting head.

Nice breadiness on the nose, very clean and malty. Faint stonefruit and honey pops up beneath the malt, along with a touch of noble hops.

Tastes rather delicious, very bready and malty with a smattering of grassy, herbal hops. Malty, semi-sweet up front but surprisingly biting in the finish. Pretty delicious stuff, these Rieder beers have been impressive so far.

Took a chance on this in the sale bin at Belmont Station in Portland OR. Hey, at 99¢ for a 12-ounce import, there's no downside, right?

As it turns out, I wish I'd bought more of it. Decent appearance, not much aroma [but then I have a tough time smelling my upper lip on some days, so I'm not much on judging anything but overpowering aromas]

The taste is really a refreshing mixture of light hops and a bready malt. I could go through a lot of this as a session brew, particularly on a hot day.

The label says this Austrian brewer has been at it since 1536. I think they've got it figured out.
