Poured into a Perfect Pint;
A=Golden orange, but too light for the style...should be darker, and more red. Nice inviting foamy two finger head lingered.
S=Like lemonade...sweet, citrus, and some herbal. Not as pungent as others. I admit that the reviews lifted my expectations for this beer, and, so far, I am not overwhelmed.
T=First sip...pleasantly surprised by the body and the creamy malt...reminded me of fresh baked bread...or more like a doughnut...a tad sweeter than others. Slightly bitter. Kind of a cross between a soft pretzel and a caramel covered sweet roll...or like one of those pretzel's at the mall drizzled with caramel...saltiness is present as well. Enjoyable, but not quite "outstanding."
M=Light to moderate body...a lit slickness to it...very subdued carbonation.
O=Enjoyable, but too sweet and light...I still have the other 5 bottles of the 6-pack and will try 1-2 by themselves, and use the rest to make snakebites. A tamer version of the märzen style, and better than many, but not really comparable to German offerings.

Great Lakes Oktoberfest from Great Lakes Brewing Co., a seemingly early start, but whatever. Poured from the bottle into a liter glass drinking boot, this brew's got a 3 finger thick pale tan head, knockout lacing& a body that is the textbook definition of amber. What a sexy beer!
I smell gloriously roasted malts; perhaps a dash of caramel. A satisfyingly full aroma.
Tastes nearly identical. Full as they come and still crisp! Earthier hops balance this brew out JUST enough. I love the taste
Mouthfeel is smooth and clean. No lingering elements here.
Overall, a fist pumping 4.25 is given to Great Lakes Oktoberfest from Great Lakes Brewing Co. I implore you to give this brew a chance. It blew me away, obviously. This brew will be a staple in my fridge during its circulation period.
