Red-bronze in color. Beautiful clarity. The head almost hit two inches; stays at over an inch, easily.
Mildly sweet nose with hints of caramel. Lots of grain, with yeast the secondary aroma. Light hint of banana, which is a little unusual.
Rich flavor of hearty sweet malts. Hunches of caramel, but less milky now. Yeast is still here, but there's an affirmed nuttiness. Finish uses more cereal notes to propel through mild-to-medium bitterness and a kiss of pomme fruitiness. Something in here still reminds me of a banana milkshake--hard to place.
Feel is burly with a decently smooth feel spiced by semi-coarse bubbles. Alcohol is fittingly tasted.
Tasty Oktoberfest, but I can't figure out why the community would rate this higher than most Germans. A very good stab at it for craft beer.
