Picked this up in Totowa, having never had this before. I wasn't sure what to expect with this beer, as it didn't seem aggressive as other IPA's nor was it British in origin. Amazingly, this was way better than I thought as it balanced, flavorful, and felt weak enough to be a session beer; even though it certainly wasn't when it came to the alcohol. Had I bought more than one bottle, I would have easily cracked that open during this sitting!

The pour to this was great, as this beer had a nice golden hue with a fairly frothy head that quickly settled. Not a lot of lacing to be seen but the carbonation was spot-on, both in the taste and in the appearance. Lots of tropical fruit like mango and papaya in the nose, followed by grain, earthy hops, citrus, pine, and resin in the mouthfeel. The latter was slightly oily but nowhere near as much as the West Coast IPA's and only the tropical fruits and bitterness lingered in the aftertaste. This reminded me of a Troegs beer when it came to the bitterness and range of flavors, but was just a bit more British in its balance and the type of hops used. Very clean finish to this without a hint of booze or dry hoppiness.

Why did I buy only one bottle? To test it out, but I could easily down a six-pack in a few sittings. No sign whatsoever of strength here when it came to the ABV and that was as testament to how easily enjoyable this was. While not as intense or full as other IPA's or English IPA's, there's so much to like here including the easygoing nature of this. Perfect for someone new to the style or willing to kick a few back without downing a "hop bomb".

Poured bottle into New Belgium globe

A-Pours a clear orange amber with one finger white head. Good spotty lacing.

S-Aroma is fairly sweet. Caramel, syrup, floral and hop notes.

T-Taste is moderate bitterness with a nice malt backbone. Flavors of flowers, caramel, biscuits, pine and a little spice.

M-Mouthfeel has a medium body with nice carbonation. Well balanced.

O-Overall an above average IPA. I really enjoy the chillwave the most then the erie monster second.
