2009 brew, aged approximately one year. The 7.5% ABV should make the cellaring quite possible.
This pours a slightly off-white head about 2cm in height, The foam declines to a gentle circle around the glass and small, scattered islands floating about haphazardly. The beer is a sharp, rather bright orange-copper color that's translucent as well.
Slightly weak aroma. A strong hop presence is not particularly detectable; instead the malt and alcohol are more pungent. Nothing really stands out here.
The open is of a very subtle malt swirled heavily with citrus notes. Middle is of toasted malts, with distinct undertones of more floral than citrus hop flavor, and alcohol lurking subtly in the background. Finish of mild maltiness with strong bitter aspect. Aftertaste is of citrusy hops, notably grapefruit, lingers indefinitely on the palate. Very nice.
Full-bodied and rather creamy. Carbonation is not heavy at all, suitable for the heavy interpretation of the style. Finish is dry, with hop resins remaining about. Aftertaste and finish make this a sipping beer, appropriate for the ABV.
Definitely not a session beer due to the alcohol, but one that I'd happily go back to repeatedly. Very drinkable.

Light copper and extremely clean this IPA set up a dense and foamy ivory head.
The scent held an airy lemon, grapefruit and bright fresh hay. The malt is tempered but the hops are very fresh and spring like.
The flavor holds a sweet lemon and a sour grapefruit but the malt is strong in a grainy, musty taste.
The feel is a bit bitter but this is super easy to drink.
Perhaps the musty grain malt flavor was an aberration and not all bottles hold this same property but it detracted from the overall taste.
