Appearance: Not the greatest pour in my opinion. Very little head retention. However, I see some nice lacing on my glass. As for color, Commodore Perry has a rich amber gold hue with active carbonation. It's nice, but nothing new.
Smell: Spiced oranges with lots of strong hops. Definitely a strong beer. I even detect some woody whiskey tones as well.
Taste/Mouthfeel: Moderate coffee malts with strong citrus hops. In the finish, the alcohol burns the sinuses like whiskey. Absolutely wonderful!
Drinkability: It's strong, but it's pleasant. Like an aged fine wine or whiskey.
Overall: One of the best non-A beers out there. Believe me, it's close and I might give this another review...
