A: Nice bottle design, brown tinged. Poured into pint glass had light amber color and small head.

S: Fruitiness and hops.

T: Citrus, pine, hops.

M: Light to medium carbonation, serves the flavor well. Taste doesn't linger in my mouth too long.

O: I like this beer, I need to start reviewing beers I don't love. It doesn't hurt that I grew up literally across the street from the brewery in Cleveland.

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a goblet.

A: Clear, medium golden color with one finger of white foam head. Heavy lacing remains on the glass.

S: Mostly floral hops, delicate like orange blossoms. Malt, Munich-like, and appropriate mixed fruit dance in the background.

T: Begins almost dry, with refined bready malt and floral hop aromatics that match the smell well. Acidity is bright and moderately intense into the brief middle where ale yeast esters and honey are suggested. The finish retains a bready thread, and is mildly bitter.

M: Thin to medium viscosity, balanced on the palate, with moderate carbonation.

D/O: This classic IPA shows some elegant qualities indicative of fine attention to detail on the part of the brewer. Like some other aging recipes such as Bridgeport IPA or Stone IPA, this one is still able to bring it, perhaps in its ability to appeal to one's sense of nostalgia.

12oz bottle poured into a tulip. Freshest by 01/08/13.

A: Pours a clear light golden with a dense 2 finger white head. Average carbonation in the body. Leaves just a little lacing.

S: A pleasant fruity hop aroma with a hint of pine. Malt is mild and in the background, focus is really on the hop, which is good.

T: Pretty well balanced brew for not having much malt flavor. As with the aroma there is a grapefuity and piney bittering to it. Lingers nicely and not to be inappropriate but some tasty burps.

M: Medium bodied with decent carbonation. A little sticky from the hops.

Overall certainly a great IPA, would love for this to be in the mix pack. Any hophead should give it a go.

Don't know how this bottle got in my fridge but here goes

A- Pours a light orange wih a dcecent head. Exactly how I want my Ipas to look

S- Lots of malts here. Very clear its an "English" IPA. Some piney hops in the back but mostly all malt

T- Hoppier than the taste which is a plus but still a good deal of malts. Some pineyness and pale malts Not bad but not something I'd go out of my way to get.

M- Nice carbonation. This part is well done

O- Meh. Not bad but there are way better beers available to me in Chicago IMO

what a beer! this is the best work of great lakes i think. the pour is orange and clear, caramely and lucrative, lacey white head. dank nose, lots of fruity hops and some odd dried fruit aroma as well, maybe cherries or something more exotic, some english malt in there somewhere too, but this is a hop bomb, bordering on a fresh hop brew with high alpha and resin content. the flavor is consistent with the smell, where is all this fruit coming from, and how the hell is this beer pushing 8% abv? its so delicate and nuances it cant be that strong can it? almost acidicly bitter in the finish, but there again is that semisweet dries fruit complex that keeps lingering. enough carbonation and only a medium body i could drink this until the saturation point without much trouble. i think easliy the best great lakes offering ive had the pleasure of tipping back. a real treat, and something different finally in the american ipa world.
