A: Pours a beautiful ruby/amber color, similar to the shading of the picture on the bottle. Nice one finger head of off-white head tops it all off.
S: Scent is of caramel, hops, hops, and more hops (mostly pine). This is how a strong ale ought to smell.
T: Taste starts with a strong bitter flavor from the strong hops, which gives way to brown sugar and caramel, along with a slight cherry flavor and some biscuityness (should be a word). Balance between sweetness and bitterness is great, even if sweetness pulls away on aftertaste.
M: Mouthfeel is very pleasant; strong bitterness is quite enjoyable, medium body and heavy carbonation makes this great even if sweetness begins to overbear on the aftertaste.
D: High, sweetness and alcohol prevent drinkability from being 5/5 but it's still quite high.
