This beer poured a nice clear red color with nice small bubbles streaming up from the bottom. The head was a nice frothy off white.
Smell was hop forward with notes of fruit and citrus with a hint of spice. This smell was backed up by a definite caramel maltiness. No hint of alcohol.
Initial taste was slightly earth hop forward that moved into the sweet malt. Caramel filled the palate followed by a sharp hop bitterness the dissipated to a nice alcohol warming in the belly. As the beer warmed it seemed to thin a bit in the mouthfeel, however the alcohol did not become more apparent.
I liked this beer a lot, my only complaint is also my greatest compliment. This beer is very simple. Hop bitterness and sweet malt. It is deliciously simple and that is probably its only fault!
