12 oz. bottle poured into DFH Signature glass. Best by 11/13/12. Thanks to mrfong07 for sending this one.
A - Pours a dark amber color with a thin layer of off-white carbonation. The dense, but thin, head makes for the perfect laser etching effect. I can make out the entire Dogfish logo on the surface. Great lacing.
S - Sweet orange marmalade, pine hops, and a nice mellowing roasty character. Maybe a bit nutty. Complex and different form the norm.
T - Very similar to the nose. Caramel malts and a nutty/roasty character that keeps it form being very sweet. Some dry, bitter pine on the finish.
M - Medium bodied and smooth.
O - I understand why this is classified int he somewhat ambiguous style of american strong ale. The flavors are very unique with a combination of roasty, hoppy, and nutty. This is a perfect fall brew in my opinion. I highly recommend it.
