A- Pours a dark copper/amber color, produces a finger of creamy, sticky beige head.
S- Nose is full of toasted malts, a bit of caramel and toffee, finishes with some sweet, juicy citrus.
T- Has a nice malt character similar to the nose, lots of toasted bread with a bit of caramel sweetness, there's a considerable grain-ey bite to it though, the hops provide some nice citrus towards the end and a bit of pepper, a generous dose of hop oil keeps it bitter through the finish. The flavor on this beer is damn aggressive and takes a while to really unravel, I'm very impressed.
M- Medium bodied, smooth body with a dry finish.
O- An outstanding beer, I honestly wasn't expecting it to be this good, although Great Lakes usually doesn't disappoint. A powerful beer with big flavor, definitely give this one a try.
