Served into a tulip glass, Nosferatu pours a hazy orange body with a one inch beige head. Good head retention and some island chain lacing. Lots of active carbonation on view in the glass. Aroma has toffee and caramel for the malt profile, citrusy hops with a pine accent for the hops. Hops also lend a grassy and herbal note. Mouthfeel is smooth and medium bodied, nicely carbonated, with a mild bite of alcohol. Taste features a bigtime malt influence of toffee and caramel. The hops are quite assertive, as well, more pine cone than citrus, with some grassiness for good measure. Some honey drenched apple and pear flavors are noted in the middle, and the malt veers toward buttered bread with toffee toward the finish. Pine resin adds a bitterness to the finish, and the aftertaste winds up smooth and evenly balanced. Alcohol is well concealed inside the assertive hops and malts. Lots going on in this one. Some barleywine and double IPA character are present. Very nicely constructed, and one that I would have again. Thanks to brewedlyhooked for the bottle.

16 ounce can purchased at Siciliano's Market in Grand Rapids, MI.
Pours a crystal clear dark ruby amber colour with a finger plus of tight bubbly khaki coloured head.
Aroma of bready caramelly malts with a hit of spicy and piney hops - slightly floral.
Tastes of sweet burnt caramel, toffee, followed fairly quickly by some significant floral and earthy hops, piney and resinous with a fairly decent bitter kick.
Medium full mouthfeel, a bit boozy with a sticky resinous lingering bitterness.
Very good - not unexpected from this classic brewery.

Clear copper, big khaki head, excellent retention and lacing
Citrus, caramel, and prune aroma
Orange, caramel, toasted bread, prune and raisin flavor
Medium-heavy bodied and appropriately carbonated
Too much dark fruit flavor for me, otherwise, very good

Purchased at Bound Beverage, Warrington, PA. $15.99/4pk, 16oz cans.
Pours a reddish, amber color, semi-translucent. Very small head on the initial pour that quickly fades to a skim.
Very inviting aroma of sweet malts and a piney, IPA aroma.
A very tasty brew. Sweet malts followed by a bitter, hard hitting IPA bite. As it warms, flavors of caramel, toffee and burnt sugars. A dry, bitter aftertaste. The ABV is pretty noticeable even though it’s only 8% ABV.
Medium consistency, medium carbonation. Leaves a bitter aftertaste after each sip.
A hop-lovers dream. Old-school hoppy bitterness with sweetness which adds up to a very good brew. With the trend towards more “juicy” and “fruity” beers, this brings me back to what I initially loved about craft beer. The aggressive, hop bitterness with a nice, sweet, malty backbone. Well done, Great Lakes!

Looks like an amber - maybe some red highlights. Crystal clear, small tan head.
Candy fruity [and boozy] smell. I pick up raspberry, maybe candy apple.
Full taste. Caramel malt, sweet, yet smooth. Light carbonation allowed the taste to come forward. Good feel on the transition to a relatively short finish. Was boozy in the front, middle, and end. Felt all of 8%.
Super well crafted ale. Big red.

Can dated 11/9/23 (I assume "best by", but it doesn't say that) into pint glass. Pours a gorgeous dark amber with a persistent cream-colored head. Good lacing. Initial impression is roasted malts, pine, and a touch of molasses. Mouthfeel is medium. Finish fades to a slightly bitter fruitiness. Really good.

"Best by 11/19/23"; drank 9/10/23 @ the Yarchives.
Semi-opaque red/purple appearance.
A rough pour yielded a HUGE tan head; a thick curtain of tree-rung lacing remained.
Pine, caramel & faint brown sugar notes in the nose.
Sticky medium mouthfeel.
Pine, spring water, mild caramel & faint brown sugar flavors. Booze heat emerged as this warmed.
Interesting, and pretty balanced overall, but it will never be my favored flavor profile. Worth a quaff, though!

From a pint can, pours a deep, coppery ruby color. Big off-white head leaves good lacing. Smell and taste showcase the malt, with toffee and dark fruits. Taste has the malt, plus piney hops and a good bitter finish. Very enjoyable beer.

12 ounce bottle into a tulip snifter. Best by 11/30/21, had 10/12/21.
Pours a reddish copper color, semi- opaque, with a fluffy two and a half inch foamy head and a decent amount of foamy lacing. Aromas of pine- mostly at the open, then fades, caramel, toffee, malt. A light floral aroma. Flavors of malt, caramel, resin, pine, some citrus hop bitterness that lingers. Has a floral taste. Smooth, a very good medium body, well carbonated.
Nothing complicated, just really well made and really well balanced between the hops and the malt. Very enjoyable.

16oz can from Acme Fresh. Clear amber pour with a small but sturdy head. Malty aroma, toasty. tase also focuses on the malts, dry, but the hops come in late. More of a traditional DIPA.
