Served into Great Lakes pint glass at the brewery a few hours ago. This from brewery notes: Bold Stock ale exploding with Hop flavor.
A Amber, brown body, one centimeter head.
S Hops. It reminded me alot of the smell of my cat's piss when he pees on our living room carpet. I had my wife smell it and she agreed that it is "the same smell." Really, the smell is repulsive.
T Very bitter with the hops, can't help thinking about that cat piss. There is some barley, malt in the background but WAY in the background.
M Full, hoppy, acidic.
D Poor. This beer is too bitter and smells too much like cat piss for me to finish a pint (which I did not...and I hate not finishing a pint).
Notes: I had learned of some interest in this beer from BA and since I was at the brewery I thought that I would step out of my usual comfort and try this very hoppy beer. This experience will discourage me from doing that again soon. I cannot recommend this unless you are a serious hop head!

12oz bottle poured into a Kasteel goblet.
Appearance- Blood red in color with a half finger of khaki head that leaves lacing.
Smell- Lots of pine. Smells like a car freshener. Also a hint of lemon and bread.
Taste- Yuck, I'm getting so much pine and citrus. Not my thing at all.
Mouthfeel- Over carbonated making the pine bomb even harder to choke down.
Overall- This is a prime example of why you don't judge a book by it's cover. This is a beautiful looking beer that has an unbalanced pine hop presence. It was a drain pour x2 for me, but I'm not into beers being over hopped especially with piney or floral hops.

A: Dark amber pour with a small off-white head, rescinding quickly, and decent lacing.
S: Very malty with the hops coming through predominantly. Some caramel and spiciness in there as well.
T: Hop bitterness all over the place. Piney, but mostly malty and caramel. Hops stay on the palate for a long time after the last drink.
MF: Medium body and carbonation. Oily with a bit of a bite.
D: Not high for me. Intense hops make it tough to drink it consecutively.

No, this beer isn't bloody looking or anything but it is sharp clear red in color. Once inch head that fades a bit but still sticks around pretty healthily and all kinds of thick lacing all the way through. Aroma's are subtle here. A bit of hops, a strawberry tinge and dark malts are what my this nose is noticing.
The flavors in the brew itself are much more pronounced than they are in the scent. There's a huge malt sweetness up front then a ESB like bitterness shows up soon afterwards with more that a dint of alcohol hotness in the end. Firm, creamy body but overall though not a whole lot of complexities and something seems just not there. Maybe it's the weird spicy bitters characteristics that stick around too much that are leaving me a little put off.

A- This is a really nice looking glass of beer. Its clear ruby red capped off with a tall, eggshell colored head. Precise rings of lace mark the glass all the way down.
S- Sadly the nose is pretty weak. Its malty with a touch of chocolate, spicey hops and toffee.
T- Malty and hoppy with a bit of alcohol. The chocolate and toffee come out in the finish.
M- Highly carbonated, dry and medium bodied.

A red/amber possibly attempting to be blood colored beer. A bit hoppy, slightly bitter, with a citrusy tang, a bit of grapefruitish taste. It's a pleasant taste, but with a bit too much bitter aftertaste for me. The mouthfeel is a robust, carbonated feel.
The 8% abv doesn't show up in the smell, or the taste.
If you like a hoppier beer you might like this, it's not bad just not what I would come back to.

Dark, reddish tint, brown body with tanish head that reduced to a thin cap left a decent lacing.
Aroma was intriguing being I've never smelled any beer like it. Reminded me of fresh cut hay from my hay bailing days.
Taste I thought was good except for the strong bite at the end. I couldn't get past it and it's safe to say one was enough for me.
