Reviewed solo served out of a portsmouth pint glass.
Appearance: poured cloudy dark tangerine with a coarse 3 1/2 finger hwad that dissipated to a fine cream colored, frothy 2 finger head that reminds me of steamed milk on top of a freshly made latte.
Smell: bitter hops, and a hint citrus
Taste: opens a very brief malt profile with a familiar hop/ astringent hop oil which mellows out as a brief slightly sour/citrus lemon profile emerges in the middle. There is a prominent malt and brown ale profile that is subdued by the hop bitter, floral and citrus hop profile in the finish leaving a hop bitter and mildly citrus aftertaste.
Mouthfeel: coarse and drying, mod carbonation, ligh to medium bodied at most.
Drinkability: I would have this again and recommend this to someone who seeks a unique Imperial IPA with a distinct flavor profile in addition to hops.
Serving type: bottle
