A - Pours a dark ruby gold/ light brown with a one finger tan head. I noticed some sediment in my glass, which leads me to think it is bottle conditioned, which is par the course for this style.
S - Rich and carmelly, with some hints of banana probably due to the wheat. Very malty and no sign of a hop presence.
T - Much like the aroma, tastes of toffee and caramel malt. A nice wheat presence finishes it off with a Hefeweizen like quality. The lingering taste is malty and a bit nutty. A bit fruity as well, like a good Bavarian black lager.
M - Medium bodied and well carbonated, not overdone.
D - It doesn't taste like it is 8.5% abv! Be careful, this is sessionable yet high in alcohol content.
Overall, this is a big Bavarian wheat beer that reminds me of Saranac Black Forest and a good Hefeweizen combined. Definitely recommended although admittedly I have not had many offerings of this style.

Looks like the brownish sludge on the side of a Cleveland road after a snowplow.. a 1.5" 'stadium mustard' head(to boot)..poured in the cellar at the brewery for mantrip. Consensus among the guys as our fave current seasonal of the bunch(also had ipl, milkstout, american ale, erie monster, Wright pils.. as well their mainstays).
Looks ominous. Smell of banana, lemon, and sourdough bread.
Taste is lots of banana too with a bang of sour yeast esters... . Balanced though. A slight sweetness n the finish too. Mint alcohol late. Belies its 8% though.. For sure. Tastes like A 6.5-7% brew. Extremely pleased.
Airy. Frothy. Heat, but not 'boozy'.. At least for 8.0. Tred lightly, but it will be difficult.
This is a great beer from a great brewery.

I poured this from a growler, it has a burnt orange color body, with a 2' tan head. The smell has clove, banana aroma to it. The taste starts off sweet of banana and yeast, then the clove comes through. The mouth feel is very nice and the clove after taste is great. Overall this is a very tasty beer.

Appearance: a burnt orange/ light brown color. very hazy. a finger or so of a tannish head that fades fairly quickly. Tasty looking beer.
Smell: upfront hints of sweet yeast, some fruitiness, wheat and clove.
Taste: starts of sweet and yeast, followed by wheat and weak banana, the end takes on a clove taste. alcohol is apparent but only adds to the taste. complex and nicely balanced
Mouthfeel: heavy, and leaves a sweet feeling.
Overall: This is a great beer. I wish they bottled it this year and hope to see it on shelfs in the future. it is a great representation of the style and a delicious beer.
