One of my last bottles from the release in Spring 2009. This has a enjoy by date of 11/28/09.
A: A nice brownish/red color, near to plum. Poured with no real head at all, just some small bubbles that bubbled up to the surface and quickly dissipated. A bunch of little floaties suspended in the beer.
S: The smell of alcohol is present throughout, but there is a nice bit of banana, clove, and some darker fruits with a bit of brown sugar sweetness.
T: I wasn't the biggest fan of this when it was first released, not exactly sure why.At first when I started drinking this bottle, I wasn't too into it again but as it warms I am enjoying it more. The flavor is brown sugar caramelized bananas with some clove and dark fruit mixed in as well and a bit of alcohol. I don't think it seems as sweet as it was when first released.
M: Thick but not too sweet and a little prickly despite its lack of head and seeming to be a little undercarbonated.
O: At first I was a little disappointed with this, one of my first real experiments with aging, but I am enjoying this beer very much. The sweetness seems more under control now than it was when fresh, and there is a good mix of the banana, sweet, and dark fruit flavors. It is going down rather easy as well.

Looks like the brownish sludge on the side of a Cleveland road after a snowplow.. a 1.5" 'stadium mustard' head(to boot)..poured in the cellar at the brewery for mantrip. Consensus among the guys as our fave current seasonal of the bunch(also had ipl, milkstout, american ale, erie monster, Wright pils.. as well their mainstays).
Looks ominous. Smell of banana, lemon, and sourdough bread.
Taste is lots of banana too with a bang of sour yeast esters... . Balanced though. A slight sweetness n the finish too. Mint alcohol late. Belies its 8% though.. For sure. Tastes like A 6.5-7% brew. Extremely pleased.
Airy. Frothy. Heat, but not 'boozy'.. At least for 8.0. Tred lightly, but it will be difficult.
This is a great beer from a great brewery.

I poured this from a growler, it has a burnt orange color body, with a 2' tan head. The smell has clove, banana aroma to it. The taste starts off sweet of banana and yeast, then the clove comes through. The mouth feel is very nice and the clove after taste is great. Overall this is a very tasty beer.

Appearance: a burnt orange/ light brown color. very hazy. a finger or so of a tannish head that fades fairly quickly. Tasty looking beer.
Smell: upfront hints of sweet yeast, some fruitiness, wheat and clove.
Taste: starts of sweet and yeast, followed by wheat and weak banana, the end takes on a clove taste. alcohol is apparent but only adds to the taste. complex and nicely balanced
Mouthfeel: heavy, and leaves a sweet feeling.
Overall: This is a great beer. I wish they bottled it this year and hope to see it on shelfs in the future. it is a great representation of the style and a delicious beer.
