Served in New Belgium globe glass
A: Pours clear, shiny, pale gold that is an attractive canvas for the beer's great effervescence. The head and lacing, however, are quite modest.
S: Biscuity malts with a slight toasted quality. Additional aromas include other grains and a suggestion of citrus zest.
T: Medium-light malty sweetness transitions to biscuity and toasted malts. The malts taste a little coarser than expected. Think hay or yellowed grass. Medium bitterness sets up a clean and crisp finish.
M: Medium-light body and medium carbonation. Reasonably lively mouthfeel.
O: Dortmunder Gold is a well-tuned beer and brings very good drinkability. Great Lakes is a brewery that tends to brew to style better than most, so I assume Dortmunder Gold is no different. I need to explore this style.
