Appearance: A clear, pretty brown brew, with a smallish light beige head. Minimal head retention, some lacework.
Smell: Subtle malt character and some peppery spiciness.
Taste: Very much a pumpernickel sort of flavor from start to finish, reminding you why beer had the nickname "liquid bread." There is some sweetness that peeks out mid-palate, along with a lemon/citrus character. The hops come out in the finish as usual, but it's mostly bittering hops, not flavor or aroma hops (though those are also present).
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied, like other GLBC lagers I've had.
Drinkability: This is a perfectly cromulent beer, but I suspect I'd grow bored with it in short order. It's *good*, but not *interesting*.
