On Tap

Appearance - Clear copper colour with a large size beige frothy head. There is a low amount of carbonation showing and there is some good lacing. The head lasted for over 5 minutes before it was gone.

Smell - Hops, breads/grains, grass, raisins, malts

Taste & Mouth - There is an average amount of carbonation and I can taste malts, nuts, and some raisins. There are some faint hops and a bit of caramel mixed with an earthiness. It ends with a malty/earth aftertaste.

Overall - One of the better examples of the style. It's very drinkable and has the perfect balance of sweet/bitter. Happy I had the chance to try it fresh on tap.

Enjoyed with a slice of pizza from a pint glass. Thanks to Iadler for this hookup:

A: Pours a hazy caramel toffee into a pint glass.
Head was mostly non-existent with no lacing.

S: Light toffee, grass, wet horse blanket.

T: Phelonic band aid, warm earth from the hops and alcohol sting. Balanced and dry finish.

M: Drinks fine. Minimally carbonated. Wet up front with a dry ending.

O: A decent beer with food. Leaves me wanting a little more depth from the malts and some dry hopping with noble hops would be nice for aroma.

A-Pours a beautiful new penny copper, two finger off white head, decent retention, nice lacing throughout.
S- Toffee, malts, bready, slight piney hops in the background.
T- Sweet up front, carmel, malts, nice hop bitterness in the finish.
M- Full bodied, moderate carbonation, a little sticky sweetness.
O- A very good beer, not much good comes from Cleveland, but this beer is one of them, my first trying from the Great Lakes Brewing Co. Leaves me eager to try more of their offerings.

Pours a rich amber. Medium head, settles to a nice film. Nice thick lacings all the way down.

Light caramel on the nose.

Good caramel flavours up front, with some nice nuttiness as well... don't really know what else to say. A simple, but very well made Vienna lager with a rich caramel malt, but a great drinker.

This is a great lager! The color pours out a copper-amber. The aroma is of toffee, malt, and a slight nutty sent. Taste is fairly complex. Starts with sweet malts and hints of toffee, and caramel. The carbonation carries the sweetness to a more bitter finish where the hops are present. I am most impressed with this beer's finish than anything. Love the bite at the end.

Great Mid-West beer from a great Mid-West brewery.
