Extremely medicinally bitter in the finish. Too much for me to enjoy this beer.

This pours a dark cola black. Light aroma that opens as it warms. Light notes of tart raspberry comes through, much more on the palate.
The chocolate plays an understated role in the flavor. All around good.

12 oz. bottle

Pours dark maroon, near black with a frothy khaki colored foam head. Smells like huge jammy raspberries, rich dark chocolate, dark molasses, nutty caramel, dark toffee, roasted malt, vanilla, with floral earthy herbal grassy pine. Tastes like big tart raspberry, dark chocolate, dark molasses, nutty caramel, dark toffee, roasted malt, vanilla, with floral earthy herbal grassy pine. Feels medium bodied, creamy and smooth with moderate carbonation. Overall a nice porter with chocolate and raspberries.

Really nice Porter with chocolate and raspberries. Great for a cold winters evening with friends during an Alberta Clipper system. Pours a very dark brown to black and aromas of chocolate and raspberry. Great smooth mouth feel and finish.

Pours a clear, dark brown color. 1/2 inch head of an off-tan color. Good retention and good lacing. Smells of hops, roasted malt, slight sweet malt, slight alcohol, slight dark chocolate, spruce, and slight raspberries. Fits the style of an American Porter. Mouth feel is sharp and clean, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of hops, roasted malt, slight sweet malt, slight alcohol, slight dark chocolate, spruce, and slight raspberries. Overall, good appearance, great aroma, body, blend, and complexity; the raspberry makes it exceptional.

"Best by 10/3/15"; drank 5/9/15 @ the Palace.

Poured from the bottle into a glass.

Brown/black appearance.

A rough pour yielded a tan head; decent lace.

Raspberry, bakers chocolate & faint booze heat in the nose.

Medium thick, creamy mouthfeel.

Mild raspberry & dry bakers chocolate flavors up front; faint hop bite & booze heat on the finish. Too mild, but easy to drink.

Let's see if I made a good decision rolling the dice on this 4 pack. Pitch black pour, thin ring of beige lace on top.

Aromas of tobacco, roast malts, and blackberry brandy. Maybe a touch of Cabernet. As it warms, harsh nail polish remover begins to surface in the nose.

Burnt malts come out first, but they quickly disappear giving way to a delicious plate of chocolate fudge cake/raspberry syrup, finishing off with melted marshmallow.

Feel is buttery and a little on the thin side, but still holds a level of creaminess that keeps the beer where it needs to be. Roasty character towards the finish.

Overall, it's not a fabulous porter, but good for relaxing like a fine wine and that's what I bought it for.
