I picked this up at Brass Rail, enjoyed in a teku chilled from the 12oz brown bottle w/enjoy by date of 6/22/2014.
The color is deep rosy amber with mild haze and thick bone white head with fine bead. Lace collects in ringlets on the glass and carbonation is visible rising at a moderate rate to the surface. The smell is more floral and fruity with a subtle toasted grain aroma, but not very hop forward even though it does express more aroma as it warms gradually. The feel is moderately earthy and has a gentle caramel type sweetness with low bitterness and slight grassy tinge with nutty finish and medium carbonation with dry texture.
The taste is good with some moderately tea-like hop flavors, mellow on the bitterness with more caramel and toasted malt in the middle with slight pepper and hint of lime in the background, very muted hop -not fierce as the label mentions however the alcohol is almost non-existant in the taste with light nutty malt and light citrus complimenting. Overall I would not say this is less than drinkable in any way-just a strong pale which is a little tame in hop flavor compared to how it is described which is a little disappointing.
