Pours a clear copper color with dense one inch cream head that leaves sheets of lacing.
Aroma is heavily caramel malt, rye, and floral hops. Undertones of grapefruit pith, pineapple, resin, and pine add complexity.
Flavor is resiny throughout, fairly bitter, with grapefruit, mango, and mandarin orange undertones. Bready malt ties together the hop flavor, but adds little character. Rye is present, but not overwhelming.
Body is moderate, with fairly high carbonation and a bit of astringency. The finish is somewhat warm.
Rye beers are not my fave, but there's enough hop complexity to keep me interested.
Serving type: on-tap
