I got nothing but respect for this beer. It wasn't my favorite and I probably wouldn't purchase this on a regular basis, however, this beer was everything it claimed to be.
Over all I would definitely agree that this was a "meat and potatoes" type of beer. This could be enjoyed any time. There weren't too many standout flavors. This is not to say it didn't have some good things working for it. There was a toasted malt flavor with some light hops. This was just a good example of "less is more."
It wasn't as flavor full as other Irish Ales, but GL's did state this was a "medium bodied" beer. I would highly recommend this to anyone who doesn't need bells and whistles, and simply wants a beer that taste great and will get the job done.
