Appearance: Pours with a finger of head which settled in slightly but was very present while drinking. The color is a golden straw yellow color with great transparency. Active carbonation is bright, probably a touch above average for the style.

Smell: Crisp clean hops pop right away. Those hops are complimented by a buttery, creamy malt profile. A second layer of hops bringing more freshly cut grass and straw show up on the body. The yeast profile is clean yet surprisingly complex.

Taste: Great tropical fruit hop profile blasts on to the scene. Those hops draw out to more of a grassy profile on the body with a malt profile filled with buttery and full bodied biscuits. Clean malts and yeast on the back end really allow the hops to shine.

Mouthfeel: Crisp and clean, with tons of hops that leave a semi-dryness on the palate. Carbonation is spot on.

Overall: A truly outstanding czech pils from an American brewery. The hops really shine here but a creamy malt profile and crisp yeast notes are so well done. This is a great pils that is a no brainer as a summer seasonal.

Pours a hazy, straw color. 1/3 inch head of a white color. Great retention and great lacing. Smells of strong pale malt, slight sweet malt, hint of hop, and a hint of yeast. Fits the style of a Czech Pilsner. Mouth feel is smooth and clean, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of strong pale malt, sweet malt, hops, and slight yeast. Overall, good appearance, simple but good aroma, good feel and body as well.

On tap at Bluephies in Madison, Wisconsin. Served in a shaker pint 10/28/2014.

A- Clear golden-yellow body that is on the slightly darker side of the yellow spectrum. Half finger white head that dissipates quickly. No lacing. [3.5]

S- Crisp earthy, grassy hops along with a crackery biscuit malt sweetness, a bit of yeasty mineral flavours. Not complicated, but it comes together quite well. [3.75]

F- Biscuits, lightly toasted malt, minerals, grassy hops; clean sweet malt flavour finished off by a mild earthy bitterness. [3.75]

M- Crisp, on the thinner side but about right for the style. Nice and dry, refreshing finish that is a lingering earthy bitterness. Very easy to drink if it is a warm night. [3.75]

O- Very solid czech pils. On the earthy-slightly skunked side, nice mouthfeel and refreshing; about what I expected from GLBC. [3.75]

Final score: 3.74

12oz bottle into standard pint glass. best by 8/21/14, so rolling the dice a it here.

Poured a clear crisp yellow with a big frothy head. Decnet cabonation and lacing.

Aroma was slightly sweet with ( lager?) yeast overtones

Sweetness came through right away, some grassiness as well. Slightly sour note in the back of the mouth, but that didn't hang around. clean, crisp, not harse at all. Seems to hold up very well.
