Appearance: Pours with a finger of head which settled in slightly but was very present while drinking. The color is a golden straw yellow color with great transparency. Active carbonation is bright, probably a touch above average for the style.

Smell: Crisp clean hops pop right away. Those hops are complimented by a buttery, creamy malt profile. A second layer of hops bringing more freshly cut grass and straw show up on the body. The yeast profile is clean yet surprisingly complex.

Taste: Great tropical fruit hop profile blasts on to the scene. Those hops draw out to more of a grassy profile on the body with a malt profile filled with buttery and full bodied biscuits. Clean malts and yeast on the back end really allow the hops to shine.

Mouthfeel: Crisp and clean, with tons of hops that leave a semi-dryness on the palate. Carbonation is spot on.

Overall: A truly outstanding czech pils from an American brewery. The hops really shine here but a creamy malt profile and crisp yeast notes are so well done. This is a great pils that is a no brainer as a summer seasonal.

Poured into a pilsner a light golden with a thinner frothy white head that sticks well, quite sprtitzy in its looks.Aromas have a bit of leafy hops but more toasty malt,a tinge of iron comes into play as well.Flavors of what a pilsner should be,toasty with a shot of leafy/spicy hops in the finish,I like the toast most of all.A great pilsner with real flavor,it's toasted with a shot of noble hops.

Thanks to Exiled for sharing this bottle.

The beer pours a clear yellow color with a white head. The aroma is pilsener malt with a lot of grassy hops. The flavor is grassy hops and lighter malts with some low bitterness. The beer is very drinkable. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. A very nice American-made pilsener.

Serving glass: Poured from bottle into Pilsner glass.

Appearance: Clear gold with moderate stark white head. Slight lacing.

Smell: Floral and spicy Saaz, semi-sweet apple, hay, more Saaz.

Taste: Fairly sweet apple malt core that is quite nice, with some layers of hay and straw on top. The Saaz is fairly apparent, especially on the finish, with floral and spicy notes. Unfortunately, there is a distracting cherry and borderline metallic aftertaste.

Feel: Moderately high carbonation, medium light body (fuller than many Pils). Would be a crisp, dry finish if the aftertaste wasn't a little sweet.

Overall: I hate to give such a "low" score to one of my favorite breweries, but that aftertaste messes up what should be a nice, refreshing beer. Also, I see very little reason to have this when GLBC offers up the much better Dortmunder Gold year round.

Stopped up in Cleveland for dinner and a drink. Had the opportunity to try two new beers, this one included, and was very excited.

Appearance- Comes off the type a bright golden translucent straw yellow. Some mild beading up the glass and the thinnest sheet of white head that immediately completely disappears.

Smell- Smells mildly of grass and hay, with just a touch of skunky hops. Not a whole lot going on but pleasant enough.

Taste- More of the same. Some nice grassiness, a little bit of cereal graininess, and some very mild skunky hops. Again, pleasant but not hitting anything out of the ballpark.

Mouthfeel/Drinkability- Mouthfeel is rather thin though okay for the style. Drinkability is pretty decent as well as this one is nice enough to go down easy.

Overall, I can't say that a whole lot was going on with this beer but it was a pretty good representation for the style. If this is your type of beer I could easily see this being sessionable.

Poured from 12 oz. bottle into a Sam Adams "Perfect Pint" glass.

Appearance: Pours a bright and clear golden orange with a lot of rising bubbles. Big four finger white head with very good retention. Leaves a good amount of lacing on the glass.

Smell: A crisp and bready aroma. Pale malts and wheat grains with hints of biscuit, crackers, straw, and yeast. Some good hints of citrus lemon and orange. A nice scent of grassy and spicy hops Saaz hops. Also a slight hint of honey in the mix. A solid aroma.

Taste: Like the aroma suggests, a nice balance of sweet bready malts and grassy hops. Wheat grains and pale malts with a nice taste of saltine crackers, biscuit, straw, yeast, and a little bit of honey. A touch of citrus with notes of lemon zest and orange. Has a nice hop bite for a pils with some grassy hops and spicy European hops. Mildly bitter. Nicely balanced.

Mouthfeel: Light to medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Crisp, clean, and very smooth. Somewhat drying finish.

Overall: A very solid American take on a Pilsner. Nice grassy hop presence to balance the sweetness. Nice to have this more widely available as a seasonal.

Bottled served in a weizen glass

A - clear pale straw with 1.5 finger white frothy head with good retention and clumpy lacing

S - weak pilz hos, sour funk, bready notes

T - sweet malts open followed by mildly bitter and sour pilz hops with green apple and a touch of chardonnay acididity.

M - light body, moderate carbonation.

A really nice light pilsener. I'd get this in the summertime to share with friends.

Long time anticipating a bottle of this stuff. Thanks to my cousin Joe, I landed 3 bottles in my dedicated beer fridge. Pours a beautiful pale golden slightly hazed color with a bright white head forming thick, leaves behind even layered speckled lacing. Perfect grassy pils in every way aromatics end up with a hint of lemon citrus notes and herbal earthy noble hops kicking. Flavor is light biscuit pale malt bready complex for how light and drinkable this beer is. More nice hop interplay with the malts bringing out a dry finish in each sip, nice perfect crisp Czech style pils. I can't wait til this is distributed as the summer seasonal this year it will simply be my staple this summer, lawnmower beer good drinkable and super refreshing. Mine is served a bit cold but it's perfect refreshing pilsener that I'm ready to get more of. This was on tap at the brewpub and sold to go from the gift shop.
