Pours copper. Ever so slightly pale for a DIPA, but the head is one of the fullest on longest lasting for the style.

The aroma isn't aggressive hops, but it definitely has a hefty amount. There's a definitive fruity sweetness to the nose, and malt is kept to a minimal.

The taste is expertly balanced. This is probably quite appealing for most, but it's a bit too balanced for me. I love when the hops dominate. It has a very nice clean flavor, and it doesn't blur like many DIPAs. The malt and hops have their own independent flavors without impeding each other. The fruit also gets its own unique place.

The body is full, and medium to light in weight. The finish is considerably dry. Carbonation keeps it smooth while not being prickly.

Overall, this was a very solid beer. I was quite impressed with it even with my preference for a one-sided DIPA. This would be a definite recommendation to anybody who is looking for a more inviting DIPA with less harshness, that at the same time holds true to the style.

Solid.

A - Burgandy - SRM 17. I wouldn't kick her out of bed
S - Sweet with hints of something I like. Malty. Not too hoppy.
T - Not bad. I'm still drinking.
M - Heavy.
O - Good beer. I would drink it every now and then.

This is a strong, drinkable beer. It's a little heavy for me. Not the alcohol content, but the overall beer itself. I would enjoy a little bit more of a hop kick.

Big fan of Great Lakes Brewing, so I was really excited to try the Chillwave release; finally found one in Columbus and bought a 12oz bottle yesterday.

It pours a standard copper color with small head/lacing. The smell is dominant tropical fruits with a hop presence... love it. Initial taste follows the nose, but it quickly fades and ends with a very bitter finish. There is no mistaking the 9.4 ABV in this brew. Overall, it's outstanding for the style, and I'm looking forward to having this fresh on tap from the brewery.
